  • Hi

Does anyone know how we should now contact hsbc by phone as their 02380723004 number is no longer working?
  • Hi All!

I haven't posted before but do read a few of the forums regularly. I've been reading all the advice on this forum so just wanted to post to share my success story.

I was reclaiming PPI on several loans I have had in the past few years and the current loan I have (I consolidated a few of my debts into one loan a couple of years ago). All these were held with HSBC.

Today I have received a letter offering me a refund of £9094.26!!!
The majority of this will be used to clear the outstanding balance of my current loan and there will be some left over to go straight into my pocket. I've only written one letter to HSBC and had a couple of telephone conversations with them but I think I'm very lucky that it's been a relatively straightforward process for me.

My grounds for claiming were that I was specifically told that my application to consolidate my debts into one loan would be refused unless I took out HSBC's ppi.

Just want to say a massive thank you to everyone on here for all your advice and positive support for people claiming - even if we aren't regular posters, we have learnt a lot from people's experinces on here. As a result of this, my husband and I are going to have one less loan repayment to make each month and so can pay off our credit cards even faster - our new goal is to be debt-free by April 2012 (without this we wouldn't have been debt-free until August 2013!)

    Thanks again!
    Pumpkinseed xx

Congratulations that is the same ground i am having with HSBC.. I was told that I had to have PPI with a big loan £20,000 .. I am still waiting for my letter thou .. only 6 days late so far .. fingers crossed!!

    Hi Citibird,

Just to say that exactly the same thing happened to me when I requested a SAR from M & S. They sent details of the chargecard that is still open but no details of a loan I vaguely remembered having with them, which was what I really wanted! I probably would have left it there if they had also sent details of the credit card that I also have with them but as they didn't I knew they hadn't sent all info on file.
So, I e-mailed the CEO of M&S to express my concerns at not receiving all records and about 3 weeks later got a letter with some more info.....including 6 loan account numbers!! No other details though so although I have submitted a complaint I'm not hopeful!

I've also submitted a complaint re: the chargecard. Can I ask when you submitted yours and have you heard anything back?

    Good Luck with yours!

    Hi there,

Thanks for your post...reassuring to know it's not just me!

I first complained to M&S ( using a claims company, before I found ths forum)...last summer, maybe around July.

They did not even comply with sending information out to the company, and following the JR in April, it was suggested that enough was enough, and on to the ombudsman...( with me doing all the work, naturally)

However, as it happened, they came back with an offer, ( goodwill, no liability etc etc....)

This prompted me to want to check out whatever else might be in my past dealings with them , and purely by chance, found an old statement with a ref number...so I know for sure I can prove I had a t least one loan...maybe 2!!...and an old chargecard account going back yonks.

Would you mind letting me have the e mail address you used...and well done for getting the response you wanted...what are they like?!

Good luck with your claim...will keep my fingers crossed,

    :mad:FAILURE Barclaycard !
Well so much for no qibble refunds ! Today was the 16week point in my claim for ppi on my barclay card , as i had nt recieved any correspondece in the pidgeon post i decided to try phoning , only 90 minute wait , to be told a letter was sent on the 24 th of August turning me down because i had ticked the box! On that basis i knew what i was doing and as far as they are concerned thats the end of the matter!:(
This is my third failure after MBNA and Virgin on the basis i ticked the box, as a responsible person i tryed to ensure if i lost my job or had an illness that any debt i had would be covered , we all know that these policies was nt worth the paper they were written on and would nt have payed out , the courts had have ruled in the consumers favour by telling the banks to cough up !
However they are using every trick in the book to keep our money , i will not give up , they have my money and i want it back!
I have used lots of information from letters on this fantastic site to try and get them to reconsider there discisions and now wait with bated breath , congrats to everyone who has had success today :Tyou are keeping us going ,i wish it was me !!
Anyone out there who has managed to turn the ship round it would be great to hear how you did it ?
    Cheers Dave

    Bad news...keep at them!

My understanding was that they would uphold all claims, pre JR, as long as they held PPI...surely everyone who took out PPI willingly or not will have a tick in a box...surely if they turn you down now, the burden should be on them to prove that PPI was not mis sold?

    Good luck...

Hi can you let me know the contact details for Cap One you used as I am about to launch a claim with them. Thanks in advance

Sure thing..will get them for you as soon as I get home.

I am claiming a loan and a credit card...and don't be discouraged with Cap One...although their default position seems to be NO...I see some successes with them:D
  • Hi All...

I have been waiting for a decision from the adjudicator with regards to a CC claim and a loan ....it seems to have been a long time since they called me, and idea what the average length of time should be?

    Thanks all,

Does anybody have an email address for the Chief Exec or any other big wig?

    As always, thanks in advance!
