Arrhhhh got home today and still no letter from HSBC ... is anyone else waiting on them still or am i the only one ???

I was told by end of Aug :mad::mad:

do people think its work ringing them to find out if it has been upheld or not? .. has anyone phoned HSBC ??? do they tell you or not??

    Thanks T

thats nothing i have had 3 letters and it was the last one that was correct after i got them to ring me
  • I don't know if this helps anybody but it is quicker NOT sending any acceptance letter back by special/recorded delivery.

I posted my letter off on the Wed afternoon 1st class rather than the prepaid 2nd class, and RBS received it fri morning (well the right department did :))

If it had been sent recorded/special it would have taken longer to reach the right desk because of it having to be signed for etc etc.

    Hope this helps xxx

  • GUTTED!!!!

Received a letter from First Plus today which states that they are "unable to uphold your complaint"

Where do I go from here?

    I am so P****D off - I can't tell you!

They say that they had informed me of the cost, the payments, that it was optional yada, yada, yada.

All the reasons I had believed it was missold, they have disputed and said that I was told of all of them.

How can I get them by the short and curlies? I am fuming!!!

sara, no offence here but I think you're wrong, the main reason to send it back recorded signed for or special delivery is to ensure it is actually received and signed for to prove it is in their hands, I think you've been lucky though.
Some people have sent their acceptance forms back and they turn round after weeks of delay and the bank says they didn't receive it.

Plus I'd also add that you don't think the postman takes the letter in to the office and drops it off at the correct desk, all these large companies all have internal messengers to sort and deliver the mail.

I work for a large government department and all our mail is delivered to the front desk of the building we're based in and it is the building manager who signs for it, he then sorts it out and brings all the mail for our department to us, in another of our offices the same thing happens, and once we receive it we sort ours and distribute it to the relevant staff member/sub department.

In my own experience with the Clydesdale Bank, I sent my acceptance form back by Special Delivery, it was signed for the day after the bank holiday(delayed because of that) and money was in the bank two days later, can't complain about that, so well worth the few quid for the SD.:D
Thanks to all the competition posters.

    Sara,
I mentioned this earlier. I worked in a Court and we received mountains of recorded/special delivery post. Ordinary would be opened and linked by 10am/ midday, special/recorded however would not come in until later, have to be logged and signed and checked by 2 people , therefore it could take 2 days to be linked therefore delaying things. Plus quite a few thinks sent recorded/special would go missing.
  • Hi all

Finally, I have received a response from my email to CEO.

    Background:
Received offer letter on 4rd August, they received my signed acceptance on 9th and then nothing. Made loads of calls and kept being told different payments dates.

Sent an email to CEO on Friday and chased on Monday afternoon. Had a mail back from Senior Customer Relations team to say sorry but we dont know when payment will be made due to high demand. Mailed him back this morning explaining how many calls I had made, failed promises of call backs, etc. And guess what, got an out of office from him!! It gave an alternative email address for the Directors office so mailed them.

Received an email this afternoon confirming:

"The acceptance form has been actioned today and the funds will be in your bank account within the next four working days".

Keep your fingers crossed that this happens.

    Hi eveyone,

Great news got settlement letter from hsbc today £4163.04 I only thought we would get about £500 so could not believe it.

Congratulations to everyone who has had letters in the last few days.:T

To anyone thinking of claiming, the 2 loans I am claiming for went back 13 years. So even if you have an old loan its worth putting in a claim for the sake of the price of a stamp.

    Hi PIP1966,

Congratulations on your win:j:jIf you do not mind me asking, could I have the Director's office email address. My husband had his offer letter in June and each time he calls he is told they are doing calculations and will credit his account in 2 days and it never happens.
