Hi Rae:D

Sent mr chan an email this afternoon. have tried the bolshy ones, changed tactics this time and sent a vvv nice one, even finished it with Kind Regards, did it around 3ish today so hopefully will have a call tomorrow.
In reality they still have until the beginning of October as my original complaint was sent at the beginning of June, but it's the fact they told me my case was being dealt with as high priority due to them telling me porky pies that makes me cross that it still hasn't been sorted!
Any joy with any of yours??

only 1 from halifax (yeah) regarding barclay card i didnt have ppi according to cass what i had was accidental death insurance which was added on the normal way 60 days free then cancel - so she told me i can claim this back- shes supposed to be sending the statements and how to claim it back - this was with stonebridge(if i remember correctly) insurance.

hope u get some postive news

Hi everyone. I haven't been on here for ages, as my compter broke down. Hope every-one is doing okay?. Anyway at thtoe end of my tether with m. I had called two weeks after my acceptance form was received on the 18th Aug, to be told that they were working to 28 working days. Called last night to be told that although form was recvd on this day, the redress team did not get this until 2nd Sept!!!!
I advised them that I did not see how they could treat my claim this. He advised he would send an email to them advising of the correct date. I called them today to make sure he did this and lo and behold the girl said that they have no record of this and they do not record calls due to the volume of 2,000 calls a day. She also advised that they have changed the timescale and it's not 28 days anymore and she can't give me a timescale.

I read on a post from a chap who said his accept form was recvd 26th aug and was told his would be dealt b with on 13th Sept as they were diarising dates. Could he advise where he got
this info please.

Just read this.

Twas me :D

I spoke to my claim handler (the name will be on your complaint letter)

She told me that they are trying to work to 3 weeks from the date of acceptance, but mine was diaried for the 13th which was just under 3 weeks.

That is only a date for them to aim for and they are completing them in strict date order.

Just sit tight, you are earning 8% interest afterall, not bad to say the BOE base rate is 0.5%

does anyone know how long it will take for the ppi to go into my bank after i have sent the letter off today, i am asking because some people are saying different things. is it up to 28 working days or calander days or can it be quicker if you still bank with them?:(
Most of the banks I've had complaints with have said 28 calendar days, and so far they've paid within that (sometimes only just).

Hi there,

Thanks for your post...reassuring to know it's not just me!

I first complained to M&S ( using a claims company, before I found ths forum)...last summer, maybe around July.

They did not even comply with sending information out to the company, and following the JR in April, it was suggested that enough was enough, and on to the ombudsman...( with me doing all the work, naturally)

However, as it happened, they came back with an offer, ( goodwill, no liability etc etc....)

This prompted me to want to check out whatever else might be in my past dealings with them , and purely by chance, found an old statement with a ref number...so I know for sure I can prove I had a t least one loan...maybe 2!!...and an old chargecard account going back yonks.

Would you mind letting me have the e mail address you used...and well done for getting the response you wanted...what are they like?!

Good luck with your claim...will keep my fingers crossed,

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply...have to fight to use the laptop in this house and I wouldn't mind but I'm the one trying to get our money back!!:)

I e-mailed marc.bolland@marks-and-spencer.com and got a reply a day or two later from a member of his personal team. She told me that as M&S Money are owned and operated by HSBC she couldn't actually do anything in reply to my concerns but would pass it in to the correct Customer Service Team and ask them to contact me. I did then ring the number she gave me a couple of times over the next couple of weeks but got no where and had just decided to give it another few days before e-mailing the same lady back again, when I received the paperwork in the post. Think this is the best way to go with this as the e-mail did say that as M&S Money is part of the M&S brand they are obviously concerned if something isn't done properly and it is discussed with them!

Hope that helps you get what you need....let me know how you get on,won't you?

The 16 weeks on my chargecard complaint isn't up until Oct.....I won't bare grudges and expect an apology, a goodwill gesture will do for me too!:rotfl:

I got a settlement for BC PPI today, just over £3k!!!!! I thought I'd probably get a couple of hundred pounds, so this was a nice surprise! Now I just need to get on MBNA's case!
Good luck everyone!

I was only passing on what the man at RBS told me.
I work for the NHS so know about the post sorting etc but thanks for making me feel good....will leave it to the experts now :(
Hi sara, working for the NHS should make you feel good, you are one of the un thanked hero's in this country.:D(grovel grovel)

With this whole ppi scandal, you should never ever believe what a person working for the banks say to you, ever, never trust them anymore, many people on here were 'sold' optional ppi and told that if they didn't take it, they wouldn't get the loan that they were applying for, me included, and I add five times to that!

What many of us have said when sending these forms in, unless you send them recorded signed for or Special Delivery you have no way of proving they received them, so if there is no signature required the banks can turn round and say "sorry ma'am, we've never received it" and this just delays you're redress longer.

I didn't mean to upset you with my comments and I apologise.

On the upside, congratulations on your win though:j:j:j:D
Thanks to all the competition posters.

I had success with Lloyds 2 weeks ago. Letter said I would recieve money direct to bank account. When I checked online my loan had been reduced but no money in the account, so I phoned the ppi hotline. The man said as the loan was live they had to pay the money into the loan and then be refunded from the loan. a day or 2 later half of my refund was put into my account. I phoned again and they said it was because half of it was from a previous loan and that the other half would be paid within 21 days. expected time 2nd Sept.... Hold tight wait 21 days if you not got it then I would phone again.

Just a quick update for you all waiting for news from TSB.
was just a little over the 21 days but this morning my bank is looking healthy. They have paid the remainder of the refund.
Good luck to everyone hold tight :)
Got a few more claims on the go, a barclay loan and a tsb cc... fingers crossed .... 16 weeks up around end Oct/Nov so will let you all know.

Keep up the good work MSE your all stars

Hi,
Congratulations!
I'm in the middle of PPI complaint with LTSB credit card, have complained that I was paying for PPI that I didn't ask for or need!
what was your complaint if you don't mind me asking?
I have asked a few people what their complaint was, to try establish whether mine stands a chance?

Thanks
Hi, all I put on my complaint letter, (which was the template from this site), was ' I do not recall ever asking for PPI and no one ever explained the details of it to me.' That was it! My card was opened in 2002 so maybe they simply have not got the evidence on file to dispute this. The fact is, I dont recall asking for it.
I hope this helps! Good luck!

My letter said exactly the same. Although in my case the refund is for a credit card which still has an active balance. So I guess they will apply the same method in this case too. Shame as I would rather have had the dosh sent straight to my bank account so that I could have split it between other smaller debts as well.
