PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi everyone,
I was told by MBNA that by the 12th Sept I should expect an offer letter, so realistically when should I be looking at receiving it? Could it be this week?0 -
Hello all. RESULT FOR ME. Returned home today to find RBS letter offering a goodwill gesture "without admitting liability.
My claim was against MINT for PPI on a 2006 £25,000 loan for 5 years at 6.3% which I paid off early eighteen months in at a total cost including PPI of £31,000.
Offer is for total of £4762.84p. This consists of refunds of premiums paid of £3,758.08 plus statutory and stay interest of £997.76. (No figure given or what statutory and stay means). Interest will be paid gross or net of the lower rate of income tax depending on my tax position.
I am inclined to accept for many reasons includign RBS's vulnerable position among banks at this time. Also- FOS are apparentlky running behind on investigations by up to eighteen months.0 -

Firstly, a HUGE congratlations to all who have successfully had their claims upheld....am delighted for you!!!
The successes are fairly rolling in now....great to see!!!
Also, ( naturally) I have a question...I sent a SAR to M&S...the paperwork back gives details of a card, ( already reclaimed)..but misses at least one loan...which I found going through old paperwork...any idea why they might do that?
The card went way back to before the loan...
Also, had 40 minutes on the phone with the adjudicator from the fos...very, very thorough...am hoping that he will decide in my favour...but it is a Cap One claim..
Good luck to all today for good news...
Citibird x
Hi can you let me know the contact details for Cap One you used as I am about to launch a claim with them. Thanks in advance0 -
The loan was taken out over 4 years.
Thanks in advance.
Terry
Ok, so assuming interest paid to today's date then you would get back :-
Initial PPI Cost £3,074.61
Less Rebate Received -£267.75
Plus 8% simple interest £685.39
Total Refund Due £3,492.25
I have assumed that the initial PPI cost included the interest payable on it. If not then the figure will be higher. Its amazing how these banks can't even do simple calculations correctly..............0 -

The lady at direct was really nice, lets hope the PPI section is as good!
On a separate note the complaint I made to barclays in may 2010 I should have received two more letters saying that they couldn't find the details! But as a rang today they have re opened my complaint
Do you have a number for them I had 2 loans with them around 1998, wouldn't suprise me if I had PPI on them, so worth checking - tried equifax but doesn't go that far back!
Thanks0 -

Many thanks everyone and congratulations to other successes. Keep on fighting those who have not heard or who have been rejected.0 -
Hi, just wondering if anybody has claimed against La Redoute (catalogue company)? I have just re-discovered my account number and am certain that I was paying a ppi on this account. Am going to request historical statements to check.
I have had a success with my claim against First Direct (£5,300!!!). Awaiting response from M&S money. Rejection from Egg and Capital One. Have asked Egg to reconsider but will refer both to the FOS. Egg's rejection letter came only 2 days after I had received an acknowledgement - crossed fingers it will reconsider.0
