me too and I tried ringing the direct line today and it just rings out or the other party hangs up. Very Helpful! Wonder if its because our claims are already with the FOS? However, if they said there would be a reply by 31st Aug then they should have responded

Me too as well, I had a letter saying I will find out by the end of Aug at the latest subject to the FOS rules .. Also I went to the FOS because they took so long in getting back to me.. just over a year.

I rang the FOS when I got the letter and they said they have to respond to me by the end of Aug ... regardless of being with the FOS.

I was told the FOS have sided with me, so if HSBC doesn’t uphold in then goes up to the Ombudsman for “FINAL decision” which is around 18 months waiting list ..

but it sound like everyone is in the same boat and haven’t even got the initial response from HSBC which they have to do .. does that sound correct ???
  • Hi does anyone have the number for the ombudsman please. Well done to all recent winners, keep them coming!!! x

Hi 0300 123 9 123 (8am -6pm Monday to Friday) but be prepared to hold for quite a while

Congrats to all with successful outcomes so far and good luck to everyone still waiting. The 31st Aug deadline has passed with no response from HSBC. Previous correspondence gave a direct line for the claims dept. I have tried to call them today but it either rings out or the other end hangs up. I called head office and the guy said they would put a note on the file to say I had called but the guy also said that my case was with the FOS so I'm wondering if that is why I've heard nothing fro HSBC. I would appreciate if anyone could advise me what to do next as I've heard nothing from the FOS either since March so I don't know whether to contact them or keep chasing HSBC.

Some progress! Called the FOS today and after holding for an eternity finally got through to someone who told me that HSBC had informed them on 8th August that they were willing to make an offer. The FOS have not received this offer yet as it will take them a few weeks to calculate the figures but asked that I call them again if I have not received anything by Sept 19th. So if your case is with the FOS but you've heard nothing, it's worth giving them a call because it looks like they've been too busy to keep updating claimants. My claim went to the FOS at the beginning of Feb.

i also am having trouble with egg they up held in my favour again about 2 months ago but only back tpo 2005 when i was paying it all the way back to 2003 so i sent in evidence of this and they sent it back in to be recalulated 2 months and several phone calls later and i havent received anything from them either i am hacked right off if they have upheld in my favour surely the recalulation should be sorted asap!!! so also writing to egg ceo so has any one got that address also please

im feeling !!!!ed right off today :( my egg credit card has gone over and ive got a missed payment charge as ive had to wait so long:mad:
Can't they pay it into a bank of your choice, did you ask if they could do this, just had money paid into Bank of Scotland account from Clydesdale for redress of our complaint, they didn't even offer to do a cheque just asked for bank details, also payment was received three days after form was received by them.

    Hope this helps.:D
Thanks to all the competition posters.
  • so i sent off my acceptance letter which should of arrived on the 30/08/11 and today i get another acceptance letter for the same thing !!! i phoned and waited for 40 minutes to be told it was a mistake and the letter was a duplicate ..
good news though they have recieved my acceptance letter so now just to wait ..:j:D
have also sent my knockback on lloyds creditcard to the FOS :)
still waiting for barclaycard x 2 also
  • Just received a letter from lloyds saying they uphold my claim. However, they havent said which one (I had 5 altogether), no figures just saying if the ppi was for 6 years it would be so much interest, 3 years so much interest and so on. They then went to say please sign to accept and return. The loans I put the claim in for was from 2001 and ranged between 1,000 and 5,000 so I dont expect much back but anything is a bonus.

There is a postal delay and the 31st August deadline has made it worse.

They will probably have sent it 2nd class, so could still be in the system if sent out on the 31st.

The deadline was for them to issue a response, not for people to receive it.

Should be with people this week though if sent on the 31st.

I have received post today that was sent on the 30th for eg.
