  • Hi
I spoke to someone at Barclays today (First Plus) they received my acceptance letter on the 17th August and told me that they are paying out between 6-8 weeks after receiving the acceptance letter!

    Hi Dizzy

Thanks for the update. I spoke to them on Friday and was told that it was 4-5 weeks (despite being told the week before that it was 28 days)!! Although the people are friendly enough, I really dont think they actually know when the payments will be made.

What I find strange is that some people are getting their payments 2 days after sending their acceptance letters back??

Let us know when you get your payment?

    Hi,
Had good news my complaint to Sainsburys for misselling of PPI was UPHELD!!!:j:jand it came through 2 weeks early:)
Which I am absolutely delighted with as I really thought I had mucked up complaint, by not mentioning amongst other things that I actually had 2 loans with them, (1 refinancing other)not just the one I complained about.
Anyway offer states as part of any offer we will also consider any loan(s) that refinanced (or were refinanced by)the loan PPI you have complained about. Where applicable, your refund will also include the premiums paid (inclusive of interest) plus simple interest at 8% in relation to any additional policies.
I have just to send acceptance form in and presume they will send me their calculations.
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Amersall, Di and Cappo!!
:T:T:TWell done :T:T:T:T glad to have helped :D:D:D my bill is in the post :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Hi fellow MoneySavers

Around the end of June I complained to HFC about a policy that was sold in 2008 by Beneficial Finance, just had the final decision letter and they say I wasn't mis-sold, drat.

At the same time though they looked into another loan and sent me a settlement offer for £380 ish!

Better than nothing, I'm off to the ombudsman about my original complaint now.

    Happy Saving

How many years was the loan over in order to work out the monthly payments for PPI ?

The loan was taken out over 4 years.

    Thanks in advance.

  • :mad:FAILURE Barclaycard !
Well so much for no qibble refunds ! Today was the 16week point in my claim for ppi on my barclay card , as i had nt recieved any correspondece in the pidgeon post i decided to try phoning , only 90 minute wait , to be told a letter was sent on the 24 th of August turning me down because i had ticked the box! On that basis i knew what i was doing and as far as they are concerned thats the end of the matter!:(
This is my third failure after MBNA and Virgin on the basis i ticked the box, as a responsible person i tryed to ensure if i lost my job or had an illness that any debt i had would be covered , we all know that these policies was nt worth the paper they were written on and would nt have payed out , the courts had have ruled in the consumers favour by telling the banks to cough up !
However they are using every trick in the book to keep our money , i will not give up , they have my money and i want it back!
I have used lots of information from letters on this fantastic site to try and get them to reconsider there discisions and now wait with bated breath , congrats to everyone who has had success today :Tyou are keeping us going ,i wish it was me !!
Anyone out there who has managed to turn the ship round it would be great to hear how you did it ?
    Cheers Dave
