RBS/Natwest,
Well I submitted my claim on 10th May 2011 complaining about being missed sold PPI, well I have come home today to find a letter from RBS stating that they are as a good will guester and with out admission of liability they are making me an offer of £3447.71. plus I had already cancelled my PPI a few months ago and had a refund of £361.29, now on my loan agreement the ppi was £4409.40 then interest of £1253.40 which is more than there offer, now do I take it and run for the hills or do I write back complaining further ?
Gives me hope Sykes. Well done to you. I put in a miss sell claim with RBS (Who own Mint) also on May 10th. No letter yet thought they told me on Monday I should get one by the end of the week. Nothing yet.

An Update;
I now am currently awaiting calculations to be carried out on 6 accepted Halifax PPI Complaints. V happy that they have been upheld :j:j:j:j:j:j and have duly signed and sent them back.
Spoke to Halifax today who say they have received the acceptances but have no date or time-scales for the calculations to be completed by. Not too happy with this as i have already waited long enough:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
I still have one Halifax complaint awaiting a decision but expect this to be in the same position in a few weeks time, how can they get away with this, it is unacceptable that I or we should be waiting any longer!!
There is no current guideline given by the FOS regarding calculations, just another waiting game now!!!:mad::mad:
On another note it would seem my Barclaycard PPI complaint upheld letter has gone missing in the post-how very strange.... eventually got through to them another is being sent-how convenient.:cool::cool:
Still that's my Friday rant over with, I have indeed still got 6/7 upheld :j:j:j:j:j and one still to be decided upon-looking forward to payment:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:
Halifax are setting diary notes based on the date that they receive the signed acceptance letters back. This is just a date that they aim to calculate and pay out, so could be sooner or later than the date depending on the workload.
My acceptance was received on the 26th August and the date they have set in the diary is the 13th September.
Hope this helps a little.
On a side note and obviously not aimed at you.
Why are people posting them back first class recorded and even second class recorded.
Just pay a few extra quid and send them special delivery to get them there next day before 1pm and guaranteed.I'm a secret crime fighter0 -

I was suprised they were telling me I would hear around 15th September, I'm just waiting on my 3rd and final claim from WFS for pre 20050 -
My Loan is still running if I accept I'd have about £1400 left to pay.
Dont forget you get the total ppi taken off the loan, the ppi paid to date back with interest and the 8% to you.
As you cancelled the ppi you are no longer paying this,so you have no more ppi to come back to you for the months from cancellation, only for the months you paid.
Hope this makes sense.0 -

well guys i think this site is fab and if it wasnt for reading through it we would have probably not tryed:)
Well heres my story so be patient loool.
We refinanced our loan 5 timesand on the first loan ( 2003) was told we had to have ppi , so on renewing we never questioned it or though each time is was never explained properly. We missed a payment in 2010 and so they lady on the phone said she would just refinance it so it didnt look like we had missed a payment , i didnt want to do this but didnt have the wopping £380 to make that payment , on doing this she told me she would take the ppi off to make the monthy payments less , but the loan became a larger amount and the payments only fell by 15 pounds a month , i know we were paying 72pounds a month to the ppi so dont see how that works out (ive thought about it everyday since but you never thing at the time ay:) ) so we complained at the begining of june , however they spelt our last name wrong and so we had to ring them again , they found it corrected it , told us we wouldnt lose the three weeks and sent the letter to say they have recieved it and then we waited..........i know from being on here some get letters every 4 weeks so after 8 weeks we called and was told everythings fine they dont need anymore info but it would be finished towards the end of october ..........i rang again today and was told the same to which i said we were told we wouldnt lose the three weeks to which i was told they have no record of that call (i thought they recorded everything!!!).
Anyhow do they look into everything because we have since discovered that it was a joint loan but as i wasnt working at the time its only my husband thats covered by the ppi and the 4th loan we had came to 27 thousand over 7 years and so the ppi only covered for 5 years (i have the paper work for this one and we are still paying it andthough she refinanced it last year) so do i need to add this to the complaint or will they see this?
Also theres like 12000 left to pay (i feel so conned) will this get reduced and even maybe written off?
thanks guys and well done to all the winners
oh yea and will we win lool0 -
Hi there, someone who is good with calcs will look at this for you,but the goodwill gesture is the full redress.
Dont forget you get the total ppi taken off the loan, the ppi paid to date back with interest and the 8% to you.
As you cancelled the ppi you are no longer paying this,so you have no more ppi to come back to you for the months from cancellation, only for the months you paid.
Hope this makes sense.
Many thanks for your help.0 -
