• Hi,

I have been a lurker here for quite some time and following the successes on here I decided to give it a go.

On the 11th July I called Egg to get some more details re the PPI and loan numbers (had been very bad and had consolidated the original loan 4 times) they told me not to worry and they would deal with this for me. I have recieved letters from them to say that they are still looking at the complaint, the last letter stated that they were given the extension and would get back to me by the 31st October.

Very pleased and surprised to find a letter this morning stating that ALL claims have been upheld and a cheque enclosed for £10,171.11!!!!!!! in addition to this they have also paid of another £1040.24 from my loan!!! Can't believe it all down to the help from the Money Saving Expert :money: and all of the fantastic people on this site thank you all so much :j:beer::j:beer:

Hi folks,
I got 2 x letters from London & Edinburgh telling me about the change on my policies to Aviva on 22nd August. Since I couldnt think of any direct debits to L & E, I started digging and through Google I found this amazing MSE Forum which is incredibly supportive, helpful and very addictive .
Bottom line I have discovered that I have been paying PPI on a series of loans via LTSB Personal and Business. I went back to my paperwork and I think I have good evidence of misselling - one letter even says "has full payment protection in the same way as your existing LTSB loan" - not very optional !
Now I have started digging I have become addicted to getting to the bottom of things and wondered if you could help me with the following questions .
1. I want to find out all of the loans and credit cards that I have ever had. Do I do that via something like Experian or a SAR to LTSB ?
If you have any account numbers and knew you paid ppi on these, that is all you need to make a claim.
If you have no paperwork, you could ring the bank and ask if they can find your accounts, some will do this and some wont.
If you still get no joy then do a SAR, this will request all info they hold on you, this will be a SAR for each institution, they will cost you £10 each. A simple letter to ask for all info they hold on you will suffice.
Look here for reasons for mis sell

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step2
All the info you need is on this link.
1. I have had a Morgan Stanley credit card back in around 2004 which I paid off by balance transfer, I dont have any paperwork on it, how do I find out my credit card number please and what is the contact address/telephone numbers please ?
2. I have had a Capital One card and I can see PPI on that too - do you have contact address / phone numbers for claiming PPR from them please ?
Thanks very much in advance
Some banks take a complaint over the phone, but have your reasons for mis sell ready.
People on this site who know the correct address and contact phone numbers will i am sure post these up for you.
If you need anymore help just ask.

Success!
Claim put in to Egg at the end of May to reclaim PPI on 14k loan taken out in 2006 and repaid by March 2010
Filled in the form after reading advice on this site, sent it off received an acknowledgement after a week, then a more time needed letter, a further one about the waiver. Then last night I came home to a letter to say they were upholding my claim and there was a cheque for £3500!

Happy days!

Still waiting to hear from NatWest on a credit card PPI claim tho...!

Brilliant!:T Congratulations!

i also had an upheld letter yesterday from Haliax - doesnt give the amount just illustrations of how they come to calculations. Apparently they pay you by cheque and you should not alter their letter sent.

As i have an account with them ive enlcosed a letter saying this is my account for funds to be deposited.

WELL DONE TO ALL WINNERS AND ALL WHO HAD UPHELD LETTERS

FOR THOSE STILL WAITING - ITS GONNA BE WELL WORTH THE WAIT

Well done Rae :T & Congratulations!

I started my claim for PPI against Barclays in March 2010 i had an £8000 loan and PPI total of £1950.

I have just got a reply from Barclays with an offer of £4300 which will be payed direct into my account! WOW!!!!! I can hardly beleive it!

It may have taken over a year to do but it has all been worth it!

Not sure how long it will take for the money to come through now?

Well done:T & Congratulations!

It varys from one bank to the other but anything maybe from 14 days to 28 days, some 28 days after the offer.;)

Hi there

and welcome.:D;)

You can SAR if you want to, but if you just want to find out if you were paying for PPI, you could either call into your local branch, or email them below, give them as many details as possible like I did, full name, address, old address if applicable, date of birth, your account number even will pick up all the loans and credit cards you taken out with them.
customer.care.insurance@lloydstsb.co.uk

To make a reclaim its the same as this site by completing a reclaim questionnaire, you can look on the lloyds site where all details you require are on there to make a reclaim.
http://www.lloydstsb.com/payment_protection_insurance_complaints.asp

To optionally SAR any of the businesses you mentioned about, if you've no account number details then give them as many details as stated above -in order for them to track down your account details.
There is a FULL SAR letter template below link if required.

I am having trouble at the moment in finding the contact details of the other 2, but others on here will probably have these details for you, but otherwise if you contact the Financial ombudsman service in office hourse, on the freephone number they should have these details you require as they will have had dealings with them before.
Hope this helps, good luck on your reclaiming.

Hi all, had a couple of offer letters from Barclaycard, which is great. However, I need someone to check my decline reply to them letter and give advice if poss? thanks

Dear Sir

I have found some more statements, going back to July 2005. All show PPI, and I will scan them and email them back in. The offer letter states that I have paid £686.40 in premiums. However, from the 4 further statements I can find alone, the premium paid is £162.65. I took the card out in April 1998, PPI was cancelled in Dec 2006.

I can prove I paid at least £960 in premiums from my statements from 2005 to 2006, and even if you were to low ball an average for the previous 6 years at £20 per month, that would mean a further total of approx £1440.

Please can you look into this for me urgently? I appreciate the offer but as I explained, I feel it is totally incorrect. Could you also confirm that the element B on the offer is compound interest on the card rather than just interest? I understand that the FOS state that I have to be put back to the same position as I was if I had not been mis sold PPI. My understanding of charges then, is that if I had paid you £100 inc PPI of £20, you need to reconstruct this as £100 paid off the card. This would then impact the interest on the extra £20 that did not come off the balance, and so on for every month after. Many thanks

thanks all for advice
