Hi
I have been successful in reclaiming mis-sold ppi on 2 loans I had with HSBC, but not sure where I would stand in regards to an Income protection policy we were told we had to take out when we took an hsbc mortgage, We are self-employed and paid the income protection policy from dec 2001 until november 2008. it was taken out as a seperate dd from the mortgage.
Thanks for any help.0 -
After writing to the bank about loans dating back to 1997 I received my final offers this morning thought I would get a few hundred pounds or so BUT to my amazement £11k of refund offers! The biggest was £6700 on one loan! I have now written to check my last two mortgages with them! Thanks to MSE inspiration paying off my credit cards this month and cutting them up! just write if you don't know if you had PPI you might get the best reply ever!! Thanks again and gud look all... will let you know how the mortgage ones go!0

Hi well done on your win. My understanding is that if you accept the offer they then make the calculations and send you a breakdown of the amount, that is the stage where you will be able to question the amount if it does not seem right. All you are accepting at the moment is the fact they are going to put you back into the position you would have been in had they never of charged the ppi.0 -

they are giving you the correct redress,if you accept this and when you get the figures,if you think they are wrong, post them on here and someone will work them out for you.
If they are wrong, you can go back to the bank.
You are accepting the redress and not the amount.0 -
thats great thanks0
