PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

  • Afternoon all, I had a letter this morning from Halifax re a CC PPI mis-sell on an old card (taken out 2003 and cancelled a couple of years later) - UPHELD - oooh don't you just love that feeling!

letter was dated 31st Aug but I only put this complaint in at the beginning of June so I wasn't expecting a letter for another month.

no figures yet, which seems "normal" for Halifax, and I have to return the signed acceptance form in the enclosed envelope (which is missing) and they will then process acceptances in strict date order of receipt so I won't hold my breath waiting for the cheque.

so in the last fortnight I have had upheld letters from MBNA (CC), First Direct (CC and several loans) and Halifax (CC). I feel a holiday calling my name...
  • RBS/Natwest,

Well I submitted my claim on 10th May 2011 complaining about being missed sold PPI, well I have come home today to find a letter from RBS stating that they are as a good will guester and with out admission of liability they are making me an offer of £3447.71. plus I had already cancelled my PPI a few months ago and had a refund of £361.29, now on my loan agreement the ppi was £4409.40 then interest of £1253.40 which is more than there offer, now do I take it and run for the hills or do I write back complaining further ?

    Hi all,

Just wondering with regard to the 31st August deadline whether it meant that claims had to be upheld or rejected or if calculations have to provided by that date as well ?

    Thanks
  • Feeling a bit low and let down with this. Egg wrote to me yesterday which is less than 2 weeks since the first contact was made. They have knocked back my claim on the basis that as it was online then no advice could have been given and that PPI wasnt necessary for this account. Please help. Whats my next move they said it is a final answer and wont go into any dialogue regarding it. Should i send an email asking them to reconsider and copy in there CEO as has been mention on here or should i go straight to FOS.

    Regards
  • Just got home to a letter from RBS saving as a gesture of goodwill they are repaying me £2944.76 on a loan I had about 5 years ago

Thankyou so much MSE and Di for your advice

Just waiting on 2 from MBNA now.:j

    Great start to me weekend:T

Halifax have just upheld my claim:j:j on a very small PPI policy running alongside a secured loan. Sent in the letter 1st June 2011 so 3 months. Just a standard letter asking to sign the acceptance and send back. They will on completion send a secon letter with the actual calculations on. They are sticking to the FOS redress guidelines. Now then who can I ask to do the reclaim calcs.:D:D

    £1500

So happy for you -small but perfectly formed sum.
