Congratulations! I sent mine to hsbc last week! Just wondering how long did it take for your success? I emailed last Tues got a reply two hours later saying they will be looking into my complaint.

It took 8 weeks for my complaint to be investigated.
  • I've been told that if my claim is upheld, the ppi premium cost (£8100) will be credited to the loan and the interest on premiums paid already will be a cheque to me. I checked with the loan company (It was done thru a broker) and they said if the £8100 was credited back onto the loan, my repayments still wouldnt come down, although the term wud reduce by two years. Am I not entitled to have the premium and interest refunded in the form of a cheque, because the way I see it, there is no benefit to the premium being refunded to the loan, and I will still be paying interest on the premium for the life of the loan, as it is done on the value of the loan (including premium for ppi) at the start date! I have 2/3 months arrears on the account, and am perfectly happy for the amount on the arrears to be credited back to the loan, then the balance in cheque form
  • the broker was loans.co.uk, by the way, if anyone else has any stories about them, lol!!! they did respond to the first letter on the very day they received, with a standard 'give us 4 weeks to investigate' type reply

Hi all was just looking for some help or thoughts

Rcvd final response from Lloyds credit card claiming PPI they sold hubbie was not mis-sold. They state had he been unemployed he would have been able to make a claim. At the time of selling he was on visa and not able to claim state benefits for unemployment - apparently they need proof of this for a claim as a friend tried to claim (same situation) and was told he could not.

They state " as a gesture of goodwill we will pay off the balance of your credit card..."

According to my calculations the balance on the credit card is only half the amount they would have paid out had they upheld the complaint!!

They say we can now take this to FOS.

    Any help appreciated - thanks

P.S. We made the same complaint to Lloyds re PPI on a loan he had and they agreed that due to the circumstances (ie the visa and no eligibility for state benefits) it was mis-sold!!!!!!!!!

    Hi trini

Seen that Incipience has replied to your post on this on the reclaiming thread.

I would sent them a SAR to request everything they have on your hubby, as this is your hubby, just do the SAR for him or they will charge 2 lots of £10 payment for supplying the info.
They have 40 days to comply.

Do you require the SAR template for this?

I have posted on earlier on the reclaiming thread as well if you've not checked that one out already.

    Good luck.;)

Hi Di thanks for the response,

I have seen the SAR template and will be able to find it again so no need to repost. I'm not awfully sure why I should request it though? I know it gives me all information re account but will it be any help?

    Thanks

    Hiya Trini
    Not a problem.;)

I am with Lloyds and I did receive useful information within my SAR.
I was also lucky enough to receive documents going back even further than 6 years.
I did not receive any telephone recordings but some information on PPI of when I queried this back a few years ago.

Maybe others will give their opinion as well Trini, the choice is yours hun.;)

  • Martin I wanted to thank you.
A few months back, I saw you on GMTV regarding PPI Reclaiming.
I took out a loan in 2001, and was told that PPI was not optional and I had to take out the insurance or I couldn't get the loan. I had no paper work regarding the loan, but I sent your template letter anyway.
On 27th December, after 8 weeks much to my delight I received over £2600!!!! Still can't believe it. Thankyou SO much!
    :j
  • Can someone help me here? I've been phoned today by the PPI team at Rbs about my claim for Nat West loans whose PPI I maintain was missold.
The guy said he would send details out to me about each loans (there's 11!) after 12 weeks since my original complaint. I've complained to the Financial Ombudsman already, as I think a pre-existing medical condition would have prevented me from claiming. But when I asked the PPi guy for a steer on the result, he said he "was not in the business of telling people confidential information over the phone"- I'm paranoid now that they will tell me to buzz off- what do you think?

I am so happy, I sent one letter to Alliance & Leicester less than 2 weeks ago, I used a template from this website and stated that I was pressured into taking out the PPI. I received a letter yesterday offering me £2500, which is the PPI premiums plus interest!
It is so worth the effort!!!:T
