Great news that you got some money back, I'm in a debt management with Payplan and we are trying to get them to cancel my PPI, they keep refusing by saying I have to pay the overdue amount first, which they know I can't as I am in a debt management plan. Lllods TSb will cancel it but want to re finance my loan with an added £3000 interest, they must think I'm nuts. But I'm not giving up, because in the terms it says they will cancel at a slight charge, I think £3000 isn't a slight charge do you? any ideas how I can make them cancel the PPI

    Hi there hun

Now with my experience with these, they are not the easiest to deal with but you should be able to cancel anytime, although all companies differ to one to another, Lloyds are one of those ones that you have to have a new loan if cancelling after the cooling period on the existing loan, but do not give up your fight with these, keep it going and you will be also entitled to complain to the Financial ombudsman service if they have not resolved your issue to your satisfaction within 8 weeks they have to do this.;)
(as its still a banking complaint).;)

    Good luck.

  • Hi everyone, I'm new to this site and would appreciate some advice as to whether it’s POSSIBLE TO CLAIM BACK MIS-SOLD PPI IF BANK HAS CANCELLED CREDIT CARD AND SOLD ON TO DCA?

    Background
I had issues with my credit card where I was trying to get the issuer to refund over the limit charges and late payment charges. I got the impression I was being given the run around on the phone as my bank kept telling me to put my request into writing (due to DPA) which I did numerous times. After phoning several times to check progress of my request, I was told that they hadn’t received my request and that I had to make another request. I requested an email or fax number as I thought that would be easier for them to receive the request and at least, I would have confirmation of receipt only to be told my request must be in writing via post.

After my futile efforts, I stopped paying my bills and informed my bank that I would not pay a penny more and that they should consider the credit card account in dispute until my request was addressed. It now transpires that my bank has closed/cancelled my credit cards and sold my account to a debt collection agency (DCA) who have since contacted me. I have informed the DCA that I had no idea my account had been passed to them, and that I have always stated that I had no issues paying what I legitimately owe minus the unlawful charges.

The DCA has supplied my credit card statements (I wonder why my bank didn’t comply with my several requests).

I have since reviewed the statements and totted up PPI insurance (that I did not know I had or was sold) to the amount £3K.

Can I proceed and claim back the mis-sold PPI? Any help and/or advice will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Fleeced.

    Thanks,

The simple answer is yes and late charges and also make a seperate complaint to the FSA and FOS about how the bank have treated you.

  • Hi guys, my first time posting on here..

I'm hoping someone can help with few questions here..

Does anyone have the address for Customer Services department for GE Money for my Burton A/c ?

In the past i've had loans with Beneficial Bank, I believe HFC Bank is like its parent company, so do i write to HFC or to Beneficial to reclaim PPI ? I had loans/ Credit cards with beneficial which was later consolidated into 1 HFC loan.

In Terms of reclaiming PPI, how far back can you go, as I have just found a credit agreement 10 yrs old with PPI which I believe was mis-sold as it was over the counter at a store?

Thanks for all your help everyone

    Hi there
There are so many addresses for this company but I do have a tel number here, ring them and ask them the address for the main offices for the store card, they must tell you.
    Tel 0870 124 2451

Next to this thread is the PPI reclaiming thread for this matter and there are some useful posts made by a member called Incipience in who you should pursue to, as some tend to get passed the buck and so on, so I would write to 2 of those just to cover yourself, they will soon let you know by letter.

Also check this link out here for help of reclaiming and complaining
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

Check it out and the other reasons as well which may occur to you so you can add on your letter, there is a template you can use to help with your letter but try to write in your own words if you can obviously with your own reasons, they have 8 weeks to respond in full, if not successful first time round another letter maybe required until you receive the final response, you should get the chance then to take to the financial ombudsman service if not successful from the final response, which is again a free service.

Always post by recorded delivery to keep a check on the 8 weeks they have to respond and for your proof of posting, good luck and yell if you want further help and info, please keep us posted, cheers.;)

  • Tried to claim back RPI from a Barclayloan but they are trying delaying tactics.
First letter was met with a standard mailmerged letter saying they were looking into it.
Four weeks later they send me a claim form asking for exactly the same information as letter contained. FIlled in and returned.
Four weeks later letter saying they hoped to be able to respond in a further 4 weeks.
Just received a letter 3 months after original saying they had been unable to provide a response but hoped to be able to soon.
    Now asking FSO to investiagte

    Hi All,
Just wanted to share a little success story we had with the Halifax.
We took out a loan in Feb 2007 that had single policy ppi on it, we paid that off in Dec 2007 as we brought our house so took out a little extra to pay debts off, Anyway after finding this site the lovely ppl explained how to disagree about how much we paid for the final settlement, It turns out that we paid more than we should have as they never deducted the ppi as we settled early and today we received a letter from the Halifax confirming that they are upholding our complaint and will be refunding us some money :T Thank you to all on the PPI discussion board for all their helpful advice :A I hope everyone else gets justice in the end :D
