    Hi all,
I am a full on Lurker here on the MSE Forum.
I have followed the ups and downs of PPI story with a keen interest.

I have three claims in with Lloyds TSB.
After an initial problem where they were registered incorrectly by Lloyds on the Lloyds system... I have received a letter today making me an offer..

The letter refers to only a single loan..? and it does not state how much the offer is for?

It asks me to accept the offer by reply?

So my question is.. am I missing a page of the letter? or do I not find out my offer until they receive my acceptance..?

Finally, should I have a letter for each loan? and if so that would imply that the other two loans are pending a decision?

I would ask them but after waiting on the phone just now for 30 mins I have given up!

    Cheers for any help

No extra letter, this is the way lloyds do it,i had a fax yesterday, but with some-one else's name on it,and yes i had to wait about 20 mins to get through to tell them they had put the wrong name on it,just a crafty way of making us wait that bit longer me thinks.

Thanks Di we are :T we had a house party for them last night they were still going at 6am this morning

Good news my first upheld complaint today with RBS :rotfl::beer::j I logged my complaint with them for a credit card ppi on the 20th June and got an upheld descision today. It was a small one which was for £107.80, hopefully the start of things to come, Firstplus have got until the 13th September to respond and we will be really partying if we get our £20,000 back.

I am also waiting to hear from FP about mid oct.--were you tempted by the promise of the 5 year rebate like i was --please post your result
    good luck

Well, I have just had a huge surprise. Lloyds have sent me letters confirming that, while they have no details of my loans, they are willing to make a gesture payment of £1200 on each of them!!:j:j

It says if I have details of the start and end dates of my loans on statements etc, they can work out any further redress. Now, my loans are from 1996 and 1998 so I have absolutely nothing however I did try to get my docs from the DPA Department. They said they don't have anything but just confirmed the years they started.

I have emailed Lloyds to advise the year the loans were taken out and that they were over 5 years and asking to work out any further monies owed to me.

Does this seem fair? Am still happy with my offer regardless as was waiting on a big fat no!!

    Hi,
I'm wondering if you could help please?! I am in the same situation as you. I had a loan from Lloyds in January 1998 and i am going to try and reclaim or get some information if i can. Can you please help me and advise what the DPA department is please, do you have contact details for them?
I have been into 3 branches to try and get some details from them and they have said all they can tell me is i had a loan from them in January 1998 but that was all. I know i had about £6,000 or £6,500 and it was over 5 years and paid over £10,000 back to them, but like you have no paper work.
I would be very happy if they gave me a goodwill gesture if they cant find details (as long as it was a decent amount!) and would accept it if you are happy with it!
I am about to start a claim with credit cards from Lloyds and have already had 2 successes: EGG loan - £720; RBS Credit Card - £52!!
    Yours in anticipation,
    S!

Wow that's a fantastic amount!! I have 3 other complaints in with the FOS. Two for store cards and one for Paragon Finance. To be honest, I've no chance but you can but try! Didn't expect to win this one either so was a lovely surprise.

Waiting on a response from Barclays too. Should hear by 31st Aug. It was a credit card from 1996 to about 2005. Limit was only ever £300 but was always maxed out (crazy lifestyle - it was a student cc though lol). no idea what would expect to get on that. Wonder if PPI is a set amount each month or based on the balance. Hmmm

Well done Thundercat Out of interest when did you put in your claim?

    Thanks sophosh!

Send off claim at end of March. After an initial hiccup, the PPI ball started rolling on April 13th.

Don't worry, it will make no difference if a holiday repayment was taken.;)

    Rosie,
The reasons I gave was that I was working less than 16hours perweek. PPI was never explained to me and I wasn't aware it had been added until I closed the card in 2009.
In the letter they sent me they said it was explained to me and that the PPI is still active !
To be honest, it seems like a standard letter and I will be interested to see how many claims submitted after April are upheld.

They would have to prove it was explained to you I think. Nutty Nat has put up a list of FOS guidance if that helps. I think you have a case to complain to the Ombudsman. If you need to know the hows and whats I am sure I and others can advise. I have been helped in the process by this thread. People here are marvellous.

My Lloyds TSB Loan Protection insurance claim has also been upheld! Woo hoo! Happy days :j:D

Just got to send off acceptance and await the breakdown now. Mega thanks to all the stars on here once again :T

Here are some calculations for ya to digest Niggly (or one of the other human calulators ;)).

    Original loan amount - £3,000
    PPI add-on - £714.48
    APR - 15.75 %
    Loan start date - 13/08/2004
    Loan end date - 9/08/2009

    Minimalist approach hey

    £1201.88 right back at ya:rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks Rosie. I am going to get back to them. Like I said, the letter seems 'standard' , they even have their facts wrong saying I still have PPI when the card has been closed for 2 years !
I don't want others to be unsuccessful but I will be interested in seeing how many others have their complaints turned down.
I took the card out over the phone and I don't recall PPI ever been mentioned, I think I will ask for a transcript of the call.
The people on here have been very helpful and thanks for getting back to me.

I will put that into perspective if it helps you. On the 1996 loan thats the equivalent of paying £10 a month for 5 years. £600 ppi refund and has it happens £600 interest. I wander how they came up with the figure
. I would try and remember how much you paid each month and counter offer just use the above figs as a base line its easy £20 per month double the figure £30 triple and so on.

    Cheers N:beer:
