Hi Julie, Well done with your loans, I've had one upheld and paid out this week for £2800 from Lloyds from 2000 but I had all the details for it, but I have another two from the 90's that I have no details on but just have the bank account details that they took the payments from. Now you have given me some hope in pursuing them.Just out of interest what info did you actually give them, and did you phone the DPA department or write to them.
    TIA
    Nikki

Just found the account number for the loan:T:T as it was on the top of the loan agreement that I have just been paid out for. The loan that I was paid out for was a rollover of the loan before and their's a little section that says existing sort code and account number if to be repaid. Phoned up Lloyds and they have details of it even though it's from the 90's so complaint lodged, advised 16 week wait, but I have plenty of patience;)

    Hiya

I would still go for the old cases, its likely ppi was added then anyway, I do not have lots on info on the ones they are currently dealing with now, they have been with them for a few weeks, so some time to go yet lol.
I succeeded in the other 7 loan ppi with them over the last year.

Lloyds actually gave me the opportunity to make a reclaim on these 2 mid 90's accounts, when they emailed me with the account numbers and confirmation of ppi, they said if i want to make a reclaim then i can do so.;)

So there's hope for you all yet x:)

    Barclaycard (Goldfish) fail!
Had letter this morning saying claim Not upheld. Have had Goldfish card (now Barclaycard since 1995 - my Barclaycard actually states that I am a Founder Member! I was paying a % of my outstanding balance every month and I can't remember agreeing to this. It would seem that you had to opt out on the application form. Anyway Barclaycard say they can't find anything about paying this proctection and have closed the case. I haven't got a copy application form - I filled in a form years ago (out of a magazine I think) and sent it off in the post. In 2005 I had to have a new account number due to fraudulent entry appearing on my account. The number again changed when Barclaycard took over. Where do I go from here as I know I was paying a different amount every month depending on the balance. I haven't used the card for about two years but account still open. HELP!

    Hi there

Not sure if a Subject Access Request (SAR) would be of any help, they should though send data going back to at least the last 6 years, so you may receive data from 2005, some banks will still hold data going back even earlier but not all of them do, its a chance to take if you want to request a SAR, its up to you, and see what they come back with.

  • Hey folks

I got a shock today when a letter arrived from Bank of Scotland saying they were going to refund me all the PPI I paid on two loans and a credit card account. After being rejected by HFC Bank on a complaint I thought had a better chance of being upheld it was a major surprise and a very welcome one at that. All I have to do now is sign the acceptance forms and send back. I assume the final settlement details will be sent within a few weeks.

Thanks to all the forum experts for your help. I will be taking my HFC Bank case to the FOS next week and I expect to win that as they reasons they gave for not upholding my complaint were utter BS. I will keep you posted on that.

    Hi Guys

Well, I have just had a huge surprise. Lloyds have sent me letters confirming that, while they have no details of my loans, they are willing to make a gesture payment of £1200 on each of them!!:j:j

It says if I have details of the start and end dates of my loans on statements etc, they can work out any further redress. Now, my loans are from 1996 and 1998 so I have absolutely nothing however I did try to get my docs from the DPA Department. They said they don't have anything but just confirmed the years they started.

I have emailed Lloyds to advise the year the loans were taken out and that they were over 5 years and asking to work out any further monies owed to me.

Does this seem fair? Am still happy with my offer regardless as was waiting on a big fat no!!

    Hi,
I'm wondering if you could help please?! I am in the same situation as you. I had a loan from Lloyds in January 1998 and i am going to try and reclaim or get some information if i can. Can you please help me and advise what the DPA department is please, do you have contact details for them?
I have been into 3 branches to try and get some details from them and they have said all they can tell me is i had a loan from them in January 1998 but that was all. I know i had about £6,000 or £6,500 and it was over 5 years and paid over £10,000 back to them, but like you have no paper work.
I would be very happy if they gave me a goodwill gesture if they cant find details (as long as it was a decent amount!) and would accept it if you are happy with it!
I am about to start a claim with credit cards from Lloyds and have already had 2 successes: EGG loan - £720; RBS Credit Card - £52!!
    Yours in anticipation,
    S!

My wife has a good will gesture of £2,500.00
it shows all Contractual interest and other calcs but doesn't say final offer, i'll post details later but is this just standard from RBS or do you think there might be more to come?

Also niggly could you have a look at this

1st Loan - Can't Remember before consolidating with the 2nd Loan.
Can’t perform miracles sorry but will add to the refund if ppi on it
    October 03 to September 07
    2nd Loan - Total Loan = £8,029.00
    Repayment to old loan= £4653.71
    PPI = £1,329.00
    9% APR
48 Monthly Payments = £198.38 PPI was £32.84 of this.
Paid nine monthly instalments till going to 3rd
    £32.84 x 9 = £295.56
    8% £177
There will have been an amount of the ppi that will have been paid off by loan 3
And thus is owned to you plus 8% interest lets say £500 plus interest of £280
    Total £1250

    July 04 to June 11
    3rd Loan - Total Loan = £18,784.00
    Repayment to old loan= £6355.28
    PPI = £3,784.00
    7.8% APR
84 Monthly Payments = £288.42 PPI was £58.11 of this.
Paid 74 monthly instalments up till now
    74 X £58.11 = £4300.14
    8% on payments is £1050
    FINISHES 10 MONTHS JUNE 2012
    Total £5350

Thanks Di we are :T we had a house party for them last night they were still going at 6am this morning

Good news my first upheld complaint today with RBS :rotfl::beer::j I logged my complaint with them for a credit card ppi on the 20th June and got an upheld descision today. It was a small one which was for £107.80, hopefully the start of things to come, Firstplus have got until the 13th September to respond and we will be really partying if we get our £20,000 back.

    :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:
  • Only five days to go before Aug 31st, the date RBS (MINT) said they would need to reply to me (they sent a standard letter once they got their extension from 8 to 16 weeks). But a review of this whole blog thread would indicate that RBS is among the worst at responding on time or with any success. Yet this is the bank that received £45billion of taxpayer bailout, was named the worst bank in the world in 2009 and paid for a champagne party for its top execs at York races recently. No moral lead there then.

    Hello,
I put in my claim with Barclaycard on the 2nd May - received the rejection letter this morning. Basically said I knew what i was doing, the reasons I gave were the same for a Halifax CC I had upheld last week.
I'm beginning to think that because they have upheld all claims put in before the end of April, those submitted afterwards may not be so lucky.
Good luck to everyone else waiting.
    Kay

Farcove it would seem to me you have a point here. Would be interesting to track Barclays results from May as they come in. What were the reasons for your claim to them if you don't mind me asking?
