I sent Barclays CEO quite a nasty email last night after a few beers!!!! I had missed call today from Barclays customer relations offer. I have just phoned them back & was told that a letter is on its way offering me £3,449……….yippy thanks everyone for there help & advice. :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T
He did stress that I will not receive the money yet but I have to wait for the letter which explains more.
For information the claim was for 2 loans each for £3,000 & both over 36 months. The first loan was in 2000 & the second 2003
Thanks,
Tony.
Letter has come today, i have not read it due to been at work but apperently it says i will have to wait upto 40 days to receive my cash. Thought i would let everyone know.0 -
Hi all,
I am a full on Lurker here on the MSE Forum.
I have followed the ups and downs of PPI story with a keen interest.
I have three claims in with Lloyds TSB.
After an initial problem where they were registered incorrectly by Lloyds on the Lloyds system... I have received a letter today making me an offer..
The letter refers to only a single loan..? and it does not state how much the offer is for?
It asks me to accept the offer by reply?
So my question is.. am I missing a page of the letter? or do I not find out my offer until they receive my acceptance..?
Finally, should I have a letter for each loan? and if so that would imply that the other two loans are pending a decision?
I would ask them but after waiting on the phone just now for 30 mins I have given up!
Cheers for any help0 -
Sussess at last. I received £1383.37 in my account two days ago. Got home from work yesterday and Barclays have offered me a further £4024.85 and my loan is going down by £80 a month. Well done Barclays about time. My claim went in September 2010.
Well done on news from Barclays. I am still waiting to hear about my 2 loans, one still active. My complaint went in February 2011.
I have had my offer on my credi card yesterday (original letter sent 9th August never arrived) and wonder how many are still waiting for their offers that are meant to happen before 31st August. Perhaps they are going to be working flat-out over the bank holiday weekend.0 -
Did not see the original post just the figures and assumed ppi still being paid. This will effect the figures I have given you. You cancelled the ppi did you get a payment taken off the loan as a rebate?
Things are becoming cleare now.
I will rejig the fig
This is why we need a sticky on calculations you miss posts because this forum is so active

Hi Niggly - just wondered if you'd had a chance to take another look at the figures again for me? Been through pages & pages from your last post (above) but can't see it? Many thanks :beer:Keep Smiling- It makes people wonder what you're up to!!!

I had success with Lloyds 2 weeks ago. Letter said I would recieve money direct to bank account. When I checked online my loan had been reduced but no money in the account, so I phoned the ppi hotline. The man said as the loan was live they had to pay the money into the loan and then be refunded from the loan. a day or 2 later half of my refund was put into my account. I phoned again and they said it was because half of it was from a previous loan and that the other half would be paid within 21 days. expected time 2nd Sept.... Hold tight wait 21 days if you not got it then I would phone again.
Oh wow, both our loan totals have gone down! Thanks very much for that! So it's actually going somewhere, yay0 -
Further thumbs down from CB this morning-reasons below-
This is because you indicated you wanted to enjoy the benefits of PPI on the Application Form when the credit card was arranged. Also the letter sent to you in May 2003 gave you the opportunity to cancel the PPI if you wished to do so.
Ah well-ombudsman bound now,see what they say.

As for the offer you have you can accept and if they send the calculations and they are wrong, you can get back to them.0 -
hi guys well done any winners today i got breakdown from my offer from mbna and when i did calculations i thought it was at least £40 out i know its not alot but well better in my pocket than theirs so sent email to ceo and got one back from guy who said he'd look at it get back to me in 7 days.it's reguarding 8% on when payment was taken they have given 8% on total makes wee bit of difference hey i might be wrong but no harm done checking.
i think this is what banks are doing as been discussed on this forum before they just sent the cheque hoping that would be the last of me with only a letter with figure on it no real breakdown.
warning to others check the figures or post them on here and i'm sure someone will have a look at them0 -
Hi mumofjanda, I telephoned M&S for the details as I had absolutely ziltch info on it and they very kindly and without any problem at all sent me a copy of my loan agreement.

Hi Guys
Well, I have just had a huge surprise. Lloyds have sent me letters confirming that, while they have no details of my loans, they are willing to make a gesture payment of £1200 on each of them!!:j:j
It says if I have details of the start and end dates of my loans on statements etc, they can work out any further redress. Now, my loans are from 1996 and 1998 so I have absolutely nothing however I did try to get my docs from the DPA Department. They said they don't have anything but just confirmed the years they started.
I have emailed Lloyds to advise the year the loans were taken out and that they were over 5 years and asking to work out any further monies owed to me.
Does this seem fair? Am still happy with my offer regardless as was waiting on a big fat no!!0
