PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hello people!
I've been following these forums for a week or so, but no one seems to be having the same problems as us, so I thought I'd chirp up!
Last Wednesday, me and my other half both received a result letter from Lloyds. Upheld! Yay! We both have a loan each, we're getting all out PPI refunded and 8% interest on that - or payouts total £4296.70 :j
Whilst we're over the moon with the result, we're a bit confused. The letter said we'd be paid by cheque and that that'd be processed asap. I mentioned to my parents that we'd been successful and my dad told me they'd had the same letter through, however, my Dads solicitor (they went through one of those companies) told him that Lloyds were actually taking up to ten weeks to get the cheques to people and gave him a number to call to request a payment into his account instead. He was told that this still takes up to 21 working days. He gave me the same number so I queried it, and lloyds told me that they were taking 'some time' to pay people. I changed my payment to direct and was told it'd take 21 days. My other half rang too, and was told that it 'usually goes through within a couple of days'.
Yesterday, my other half gave them a call just to give them a nudge (we like to do this with Lloyds, since they take the mick so much!) and this time my other half was told he shouldn't have been given a time scale, because they don't have one and at the very least it'll take a month.
What's confused me, is that the interest on our letter is calculated up to the 5th of Sept. If they take any longer than this, will they incur more charges? Surely they'd be aiming to pay by this point at the latest?
Also, some lucky beggars on here seem to have had a result and payment within just a couple days of each other.
How is/have everyone elses Lloyds payouts gone? Smoothly? Still waiting? Is there anything anyone would recommend doing? We contacted Lloyds various time between Jan and the result and every time we got something different. Usually being told something positive, then being told later that we shouldn't have been told that. So infuriating!
The PPI is for two loans, and the original complaints were made in January of this year.
Thanks in advance!0 -
Sussess at last. I received £1383.37 in my account two days ago. Got home from work yesterday and Barclays have offered me a further £4024.85 and my loan is going down by £80 a month. Well done Barclays about time. My claim went in September 2010.0

Hiya
Good luck on your reclaiming.
I'm sure someone will be along soon to work them out for you, although more details will be required, dates etc, they will tell you what you need to post up.;)
Thanks Di,
I sent off my Questionnaire to them last week. With the details of when the loan was taken out. Will I get confirmation of them receiving that?
Any other peoples experiences with HSBC would be great. I do hope I get something back because I do genuinely believe I was miss sold the PPI!! I cant believe how widespread it is and Im glad that the customers are finally getting something back off them!!:money::rotfl::T0 -

So - many thanks to Amersall, LynK, Riggsy1367 and anyone I’ve missed for your very helpful advice...we’ll probably try a mixture of all your suggestions, and see what floats murkily to the top !0 -
Hi I have a Barclays question hope this is the right forum.
I've been dealing with 2 ppi claims on behalf of my mother, in 2005 she was sold a ppi against a loan of £15000 premium loan £3903, charge for credit £1168 total £5071 payments of £60.38 over 84months (this loan ends Jan 2012 and she is still paying the ppi) As she was retired she did not need this and was pressured into it. So in Jan contacted Barclays using this sites forms, in March went to the FOS and get a letter from in July stating Barclays will make a gesture of goodwill offer etc so good news and waiting to hear exact offer.
Now in 2003 my mother had taken a loan out of £7000 ppi total £1662 I found this out later she had take the bigger loan in 2005 to consolidate debts etc (a bit of a mess but it's being sorted) so in April I sent forms off to Barclays to complain about this as she was retired in 2003. She received a letter today offering £500 compensation good will as they have no records as it was so long ago. I have sent them copies of the schedule and agreement.
How can they have no records of the loan is this just a stalling tactic or is it really too old?
Advice and thoughts appreciated
Daren
Good luck and let us know how you get on.0 -

Having said that, the FSCS are helping Welcome with their ppi claims and they take the redress of the loans, but i think this is wrong, you should have the other ppi back and only the current loan refund taken off that loan.
Dont know if this will work, but you have nothing to lose.0 -

If you are owed any interest then they will give you this, you wont lose out,i would think that when you get the cheque, the interest will be on there up to the date of the cheque.
Hopefully you wont wait too long for a payout as they are moving fast at the moment.
I think when you phone, they just give you a timescale to stop you phoning back again if that timescale has passed, this is the cynic in me talking now.
Good luck.0 -
Doing this now in advance of the successes that will posted today and tomorrow
