Hello,
I put in my claim with Barclaycard on the 2nd May - received the rejection letter this morning. Basically said I knew what i was doing, the reasons I gave were the same for a Halifax CC I had upheld last week.
I'm beginning to think that because they have upheld all claims put in before the end of April, those submitted afterwards may not be so lucky.
Good luck to everyone else waiting.

mumofjanda wrote: »Good Luck with this Lyn, as Smitchy has said you can always go back with more info if they don't uphold straight away.
For me the easiest uphold I got was after ringing to get some info re: PPI on an old loan, being asked why I thought it was mis-sold IF PPI was added to the loan, gave a one sentence garbeled reply after being caught 'on the hop' and 2 days later an offer in the post!!
Maybe sometimes 'less is more' and i am actually worrying that I have gone into too much detail on my outstanding complaints!! ('tho I did get a lovely 'upheld' letter yesterday)
Let us know how you get on. I'm about to complain to M & S about 6 loans I've had with them in the past. Can i ask when you had the loan and did you have all the details?
Fingers crossed you get good news soon!:)
Hi mumofjanda, I telephoned M&S for the details as I had absolutely ziltch info on it and they very kindly and without any problem at all sent me a copy of my loan agreement.
My loan was taken out in April 2004 and was for £5k, over 5 years, good luck hope this helps.0 -
Hello people!
I've been following these forums for a week or so, but no one seems to be having the same problems as us, so I thought I'd chirp up!
Last Wednesday, me and my other half both received a result letter from Lloyds. Upheld! Yay! We both have a loan each, we're getting all out PPI refunded and 8% interest on that - or payouts total £4296.70 :j
Whilst we're over the moon with the result, we're a bit confused. The letter said we'd be paid by cheque and that that'd be processed asap. I mentioned to my parents that we'd been successful and my dad told me they'd had the same letter through, however, my Dads solicitor (they went through one of those companies) told him that Lloyds were actually taking up to ten weeks to get the cheques to people and gave him a number to call to request a payment into his account instead. He was told that this still takes up to 21 working days. He gave me the same number so I queried it, and lloyds told me that they were taking 'some time' to pay people. I changed my payment to direct and was told it'd take 21 days. My other half rang too, and was told that it 'usually goes through within a couple of days'.
Yesterday, my other half gave them a call just to give them a nudge (we like to do this with Lloyds, since they take the mick so much!) and this time my other half was told he shouldn't have been given a time scale, because they don't have one and at the very least it'll take a month.
What's confused me, is that the interest on our letter is calculated up to the 5th of Sept. If they take any longer than this, will they incur more charges? Surely they'd be aiming to pay by this point at the latest?
Also, some lucky beggars on here seem to have had a result and payment within just a couple days of each other.
How is/have everyone elses Lloyds payouts gone? Smoothly? Still waiting? Is there anything anyone would recommend doing? We contacted Lloyds various time between Jan and the result and every time we got something different. Usually being told something positive, then being told later that we shouldn't have been told that. So infuriating!
The PPI is for two loans, and the original complaints were made in January of this year.
Thanks in advance!
I had success with Lloyds 2 weeks ago. Letter said I would recieve money direct to bank account. When I checked online my loan had been reduced but no money in the account, so I phoned the ppi hotline. The man said as the loan was live they had to pay the money into the loan and then be refunded from the loan. a day or 2 later half of my refund was put into my account. I phoned again and they said it was because half of it was from a previous loan and that the other half would be paid within 21 days. expected time 2nd Sept.... Hold tight wait 21 days if you not got it then I would phone again.0 -

Just received letter from fos with 8 forms to fill in regarding Aviva ( insurer for welcome finance before 2003) . It will take me some time but I will get my money back . The fscs have paid me back for my loans 2005 onwards. Welcome are in the middle of paying me back for loan 2003 to 2005 . So im not sure why Aviva think they can get away with it0

Well,
has anyone got a chair handy, I'm feeling rather faint!
The post just arrived, and in it was RBS settlement for the PPI I first complained about in December 1999
After the arrears (£2.5k'ish - mainly as I refused to pay whilst they were witholding the PPI! - my credit history was already a mess, so WTH!) they have sent me the princely sum of £155.82
But, a victory is a victory!
Niggly - I've asked for a full breakdown of their calcs as I believe there payment is on the low side
Whilst I'm quite adept at loan calcs, cards leave me a little cobfused at times - could you take a look?
A win is a win :T:T:T:T well done :money:0 -
donnamhickey wrote: »Hi just recieved letter to say our complaint hasn't been upheld as my husband back in 1996 ticked the box on the application form to say he wanted ppi.
They are satisfied that my husband actively chose to purchase ppi and understood it was optional when he did so.
No one actually spoke to him or explained what ppi was.
He just returned an application form. He assumed he had to have it back then, as he wouldn't be excepted if he hadn't got it.
We only canceled it 3 years after realising with all the media we didn't need it!!!
Anyway my question is MBNA have said we can take it to ombudsman if we're not happy. Does anyone think its worth it as he did tick the box afterall.
Any similar stories with good outcomes.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Donna
it won't hurt to try, that is what I have done.0 -
My wife has a good will gesture of £2,500.00
it shows all Contractual interest and other calcs but doesn't say final offer, i'll post details later but is this just standard from RBS or do you think there might be more to come?
Also niggly could you have a look at this
1st Loan - Can't Remember before consolidating with the 2nd Loan.
2nd Loan - Total Loan = £8,029.00
Repayment to old loan= £4653.71
PPI = £1,329.00
9% APR
48 Monthly Payments = £198.38 PPIwas £32.84 of this.
Paid nine monthly installments till going to 3rd
3rd Loan - Total Loan = £18,784.00
Repayment to old loan= £6355.28
PPI = £3,784.00
7.8% APR
84 Monthly Payments = £288.42 PPIwas £58.11 of this.
Paid 74 monthly installments up till now
A rough idea would do
Cheers in advance0 -
I took out a £17,000 loan over 7 years with Tesco Personal Finance in 2003, I repaid the loan early in 2008. I made a reclaim on 24 May 2011, thinking I had no chance of getting anything back. Tesco were quick to acknowledge my claim and just before the 8 week response period I got a letter saying they were still looking into it for me. Today 26 August 2011, I got a letter through the door and I'm happy to say they have offered me £5925.20 of a refund. This includes all the premiums I paid during the loan, the settlement figure from when I repaid the loan early and interest at 8%. I think I'm happy with that ;-)
The PPI was added to my loan and interest was added, I was also not asked any medical questions and I have had asthma since I was 15 years old and policy exclusions were not explained to me.
I honestly thought I had no chance and thought the letter through the door was a "get lost" response so thank you Martin you are a star!!!
Now just need to chase up IF.com who sent me an acknowledgement and I have had nothing from them since, the claim was also made in May.0
