Well, I have just had a huge surprise. Lloyds have sent me letters confirming that, while they have no details of my loans, they are willing to make a gesture payment of £1200 on each of them!!:j:j

I will put that into perspective if it helps you. On the 1996 loan thats the equivalent of paying £10 a month for 5 years. £600 ppi refund and has it happens £600 interest. I wander how they came up with the figure
. I would try and remember how much you paid each month and counter offer just use the above figs as a base line its easy £20 per month double the figure £30 triple and so on.

    Cheers N:beer:

Oh thanks Niggly!! I'm sure I was paying much more than £10 per month but unfortunately not sure how much because I didn't know I was paying PPI :rotfl:

Will challenge them on the dates and see what happens. I don't have much of a leg to stand on but you don't ask, you don't get!!

Oh so true! The Best of luck to you! And well done on what you've won already. :D

Congratulations to all of todays winners. Of which I'm sure there will be a fair few. :j
Be warned. You may have to use some of the money to pay for plastic surgery to remove the permanent smile that these wins can cause. ;) :rotfl:

Well done on getting an offer

A lot of the banks are saying up to 4 weeks, but a few are now mentioning up to 8 weeks - presumably there's a backlog in the payments departments now the complaints teams are clearing their workload.

Phone them and ask how long payments take.

Has anyone had any success with HSBC, I've had my claim in since beginning of May and the 16 weeks are up next Wednesday. Does anyone know if they are responding within the 16 weeks please? Thanks any help would be appreciated!!!!

This is uncanny! I've just posted a comment in another thread about Bank Of Scotland, and the postman's just been. I've now got a letter telling me my second complaint with them (about an old 'Preference' account) has also been upheld. The banks really seem to be speeding up now. :j

I've had one upheld by HFC, which is part of HSBC.

It took from early May to late August (I got the cheque yesterday), so that's comfortably within 16 weeks.
