In view of the fact that you are a vauled customer, a decision has been made to pay the amount which will put me back in the position I would have been had I not taken PPI. I will received confirmation shortly with the amount and it will be offset against my loan arrears.
I havent had to go to the FOS with this matter and at this moment I am very happy that they have now made a decision on the matter. This is the end of the 8th week

Ha ha!!! I had to fight the Halifax, as I was not a valued customer! Well done to you for winning against them. They're not an easy nut to crack, so enjoy it!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

Yes but thats the strange thing, I am not a valued customer, all my debts with them are on a DMP. Very strange wording of the letter.0 -

Hi everyone long time lurker first time poster.
On the advice of martin i contacted Egg for a refund of ppi on a loan i took out in July 2005 via eggs online facilities and am still paying it having never missed a payment.
As soon as i rang egg and mentioned the PPI they reduced my payments by £10 a month for the rest of the duration and said they would investigate as to whether i was owed any backlog money.
Today i recieved a letter stating they would not refund as:
'We do not provide an advisory service, as part of our online sales process. However, prior to submitting your online application, you were asked to read the t's and c's governing this policy and you were required to specifically confirm that you agreed to them'
Therefore egg are saying they are unable to highlight whether or not i was given incorrect information and are refusing to cough up.
Does anyone have any advice that could help? Thanks0 -

Hi there
Do not worry at this stage.
Did you actually write to them to reclaim or was this just done verbally over the phone?
Was this the final letter response or the first one?
If the first one, then write back, if a final letter, have they enclosed the Financial ombudsman service leaflet?
If so you can take your complaint to them to investigate this for you.
Let us know and we can helo from here, cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi mate - thanks for the reply.
I rang egg up after reading the advice here and the moment i mentioned ppi to the egg rep on the phone the first thing she asked me was did i want a refund haha.
She said that she would log my complaint and within 8 weeks i would get a decision, today i got the letter saying they were not going to pay up but that i could take this up with the financial ombudsman.
So would you recommend i fill in the forms and send it to ombudsman?0
