    Morning all.

    I've just opened a letter from First Direct, I was expecting a bank statement but instead it is a "nice" letter that says UPHELD on 2 loans. Nice surprise as I put 1 complaint in in May (FD found another loan and added it to the complaint) and the 16 weeks isn't up until end of sept. No calculations yet but should be 28 days for the cheque.

    I feel a pair of new shoes (or a handbag) calling my name!!

    Yay

    :rotfl::j:beer: WELL DONE! :beer::j:rotfl:

    I've been a keen spectator of this forum and thanks to Money Saving Expert put in a PPI claim to Lloyds TSB back in April, they ignored me, so I sent them another letter which threatened the FOS to which they sent me a "we're looking into your complaint" letter. It's been months now since I heard from them so I decided to call them this morning for an update. They're sending me a letter with a settlement of £1948ish for PPI that cost about £1200 over 5 years. Not sure if that's the correct amount as I haven't got my paperwork, but it sounds near enough so I'm quite pleased :)

    The sooner they send it to me, the sooner I close my account with them.

    :rotfl::j:beer:WELL DONE, HOPE ITS GOOD NEWS:beer::j:rotfl:

    Hi All,

    Bit of advice please i took out an Egg loan in 2006 for £17k which i still have today, in 2009 i call to re finance the loan and the agent mentioned about my ppi i advised i didnt remember taking it up and asked for it to be cancelled which he did, i only recently came across these forums and emailed egg to advise i wished to complain and wanted reimbursed.
    Within a couple of days i got a letter to confirm receipt of the complaint then 2 days later i got a futher letter advising the complaint would be investigated and that due to new rules they had 16 weeks to complete the investigation but that i would get a decision by December 8th.
    Having read these forums my question is that a lot of people use templates on the site which i only discovered once i sent the email
    would using one of these enhance my case or is the email sufficent or is there anything else i should have included in the email to support my case or is it down to egg to prove the ppi wasnt mis sold?

    Hi There,

    you should be fine with the complaint being made over the phone, I did this for my brother and about 4 wks later his complaint was upheld. Egg seem to be pretty fare and quick with their investigations so fingers crossed for you ;) the only thing im not too sure about is Egg being granted the extension I think they only have 8 wks still, so may be worth checking & asking for an update from them but again my experience they settled 3 complaints well within 8 wks ;) BEST OF LUCK! :D

    Hi There,

    I believe they have 16 weeks from 24th june as i think the ruling is; if your complaint went in before 6th may they have until the 31st August to get back to you, after the 6th may they have 16 weeks from the date your complaint went in to them. Hope that helps a little & best of luck :D;)

    Cheers! The letter stated anything prior to July 11th they had to respond in 8 weeks but had an agreement with the FOS that due to large volume of enquirys anything after that date they had 16 weeks to close, but as you say they seem to be responding to some people quite quickly so hopefully i wont be waiting too long!
