    Hi there
This can vary from one to another claim, and depending if the loan company dealt with requests more time.

The one dealing with your case will start by requesting information from the other party in order to take a look at 2 sides, yours and the other sides, and they do say 2 weeks before they hear, sometimes this can go on for more weeks.

If the adjudicator believes your case should be upheld in your favour they will give the chance to the other party to have their say, if they do not agree the FOS may suggest that it gets moves onto the Financial ombudsman himself.

I know some can be in a matter of weeks, sometimes months, depending as well how complexed the case maybe.;)

Good luck and hope you have success in all your complaints.;)

Please let us know as you hear, cheers.

    Hi there
Blimey, you have been waiting a long time then, saying that one of mine was approx 14 months from start to finish of then it was paid out.
As they were fined I imagine there are many complainants they have to deal with "perhaps"??? Still there's a good chance for you on winning this then.;)

I would give them (FOS) a little email nudge now and again to the ones dealing with your complaints, and if your financially stuggling, let them know, they may even consider pushing it on further for you.;)

Good luck, hope you win them all.

  • Just received a letter this morning from A&L to offer me a full refund of £1520.51 for a missold policy

Used template letter from this site ,adjusted it for my needs, two weeks later BINGO.

My main point of attack was the fact that 18 months into my loan i sold my house and had the funds to cover the loan, called A&L to tell them that the insurance was not needed and could i cancel.
They told me NO but i could cancel the loan and take a new one out without ppi at great cost to myself.

Very pleased i followed advice from this site,

Martin you are a God !! happy new year to all
  • Also recieved a letter from A&L this morning with the line "I am unable to establish you were provided with sufficient details to be able to make an informed decision".

offer made of £925.33 after the first letter!

  • Having used the template letter from this website we managed to claim back from Abbey National all our PPI payments plus interest a total of £2700!! All done within a month.

    Many thanks.

  • What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
    Who was the provider: HSBC
How much did you get back: £3000
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: After one letter
And then write your brief reclaim tale:

I was told that I had to have the PPI to get my loan about 7 years ago.
Heard about the standard letters on the website and gave it a whirl.
After four weeks I got a holding letter.
After eight weeks I got an offer of all premiums, early repayment fee and 8% interest = Just under £3000.

    Thanks MSE.
  • Oops sorry. I posted in the wrong forum area. I've deleted my original post from here and re-posted in PPI discussion area. Congratulations to all who have succeeded reclaiming missold PPI
