dont think solicitor is using ombudsman .....she told me take roughly 12 months for a claim that was back in may xx its with hare court in london at the min for second opinion

So your solicitor is dealing with this by themselves then?

You do know I take it that the Financial ombudsman service is free to use don't you hun?;)

One of my complaints lasted 14 months with the FOS last year, my hubby has had 2 of his complaints in with the FOS since I think end of July maybe early August and is still waiting to hear if this has been moved on to the next step, but not heard anything yet, although I know they are over-run with these PPI complaints, the volumes of these complaints are just getting higher every year.

One of mine was with the adjudicator but Lloyds do not agree with having mine upheld, so its not moved on to the ombudsman himself, goodness knows how long we will be waiting.

Yes some are lucky to hear from the FOS and be lucky within weeks.;)

  • I used the template from your website to reclaim the PPI on a loan I have had for almost 6 years with Frizzel. Didn't really hold out much hope but for the cost of a stamp thought I would give it a go. Absolutely amazed that they are going to refund £2691 PLUS £602 interest. What a result!!!! Would recommend everyone should try, if they say no then it has cost you less than 30P.

    Hi there and welcome.

    Good one, that's great news. :T .

Now when you say Frizzel, was that the actual name of the company?
Was this the lender or the broker who organised your finance for you?

Hope you don't mind me asking but I have paperwork here which is loose from the other docs which states frizzel, but cannot remember for the life of me the actual provider or so....... .
Think Liverpool Victoria may have been a part of these, but uncertain.

    Hi there and welcome.

Oh dear, so they did not actually give you a choice then ?
Right hun check this link out here
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

There is useful PPI info and a letter template you can use to help, but add your own reasons and as much info as possible to support your complaint.

They have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Another letter maybe required if they try fobbing you off first time round, or until they suggest you take this to the Financial Ombudsman service, but you cannot go that direction until the firm have a chance to put this right for you which is the 8 weeks they have to do this, although if you've no response at all after 8 weeks then continue to take to the FOS anyway.

Post by recorded delivery to keep a check on the timescales they have and for your proof of posting.

Please let us know the outcome of this in order for us to help you to the following step.

    Good luck;)
Basically they must put you back in the postion as if you did not have PPI in the first place.
Is this loan still ongoing hun?

Next to this forum is the actual PPI reclaim discussion thread, please also feel free to post on there.:D ;)

    Hi hun.

Well done for doing this so quickly.:T .

Good luck and we look forward to hearing the result of this.

Just to say if you receive a fob off response first time round, it means nothing generally, so keep at them, hopefully this will be successful first time, but if not let us know anyway and we can help you to the following step from there.;)
