So, after waiting 11 weeks to hear back from MBNA, I decided to chase them up this morning, to be told we've issued our final response 10 days ago, haven't you had it through the post?
Turns out that they've been sending post to the address they had on the system when I took the card out and not to the address I gave them when I complained - wouldn't be surprised if this is happening to a number of people!
She told me that my claim hasn't been upheld but then she said "only on the basis that you took it out when you applied for the card. I'll enclose a copy of your agreement along with details of how you can take your claim further with the FOS"
I'll wait to see exactly what it says in the letter but the "you took it out when you applied" excuse doesn't sit well with me - watch out MBNA I'm not going down without a fightNationwide Loan - Success - £2,596.24 - 8 weeks Egg CC - Success - £99.51 - 2 weeks Lloyds CC - Success - £1,151.27 - 16 weeks & 2 days
Lloyds Loan - Success - £186.17 -Waiting for payment Virgin CC - Rejected - but 23 days into re-opened complaint - update overdue0 -
It has taken quite a while (around 8 months) as my claim fell just before the banks went the the High Court, however I'd used the templates and went through all the procedures as recommended.
This morning I got a letter from LloydsTSB offering a settlement of over £11,500. What I hadn't realised is they have to put you back in the same position as if you hadn't taken the insurance, which meant part of the interest added to the credit card including the PPI loan was also refunded, plus a flat 8%:rotfl:.
I've got another claim for a similar amount still under investigation with another bank so I'll let you know how that one pans out!
Cheers

originally for my loan i rang them asked for all my previous loan agreement numbers which they were happy to give me then i wrote to them with my complaint, but with my CC phoned the customer care team because i was not sure if i had ppi or not or how many credit cards i have had with them in the past again they were able to give me this information and logged in my complaint and within 2 days received a standard letter to say that it will dealt with so its up to you but personally i would ring them its quicker they would ask you all the relievant questions over the phone GOOD LUCK0 -

this is my first time on a forum, i subbmitted my ppi claim myself on 25 oct last year and was then told my claim has been affected by the judical review and put on hold untill the outcome of the court case, now 10 months later i have had no joy after numerus phone calls (being told that i will have a reply by 31st aug) where do i stand on this as this cant be right because if my claim has yet to be seen what about the people whos claims were subbitted after me?0 -

1.30th july received an offer letter dated 26th july for 4,500 and if i was happy with offer need not do anything if they don't here from me then they will process the refund into my account
2.1st august rang them to find out how long the process would take the gentleman said they wait 7 days for me to reply if not happy and then another 21days for the money to be transferred into my account so in total 28 days none of this was stated in the letter
3.post came this morning got all excited because i have another 3 claims with them and that is due by 31st august when i opened it it was a loan statement for a current loan i have it shows that they took my regular payment on 1st august then it shows 975.00 received from me on 2nd august i phoned up to find out what was going on and to be told that they had taken it out of my final settlement i told him that how dare they do that i was told in the letter that all monies would be refunded back to my account he apoligised and said that he would email the refund department and tell them to refund it all to me so my grievience is that they didnot even wait 3 days to take some of my money to pay off my loan but i have to wait 28 days for the rest of it to hit my account they are making us wait unneccessary:mad:
received this email this morning does this mean that because my current loan is refinanced they have done this are they allowed to do this although im happy that it does not include my current refund of 4,500 its now bumped it up to 5,500 this was not made clear to me in my final settlement
Dear xxxxxx
Thank you for your recent communication.
You are quite correct in confirming that an amount of £975.00 has been paid to your current open loan (which did not have payment protection insurance). This is part of the interest adjustment and excess balance amount that was explained in your final figures letter and has no bearing on the amount of £4452.25 which will be paid to your bank account and is specifically linked to the payment protection insurance.
We have requested that you wait the 21 days before contacting us to allow all the transactions relating to the refund to be processed. Please be assured that the other payments are currently being processed.
Yours sincerely

Hi
I have received a letter from Barclaycard regarding my PPI claim (they did write back in June to advsie that they would offer a gesture of goodwill payment by 31st August). The letter I received on 5th August is settling the claim in full - just over £12k I have had my Barclaycard since 1998 and they have averaged the monthly PPI payments at approx £21 and have used this to go back to 1998. The breakdown is as follows:
Refund of PPI Cover £3300
Refund of Interest £7155
8% simple interest per annum £1850
I am SO SO SO happy and I am looking for a cheap holiday :-)
Wow!
A total of £12,305 from Barclaycard then?
Well done!
:T-
Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!
