    HSBC Success

I completed the questionnaire and sent this in June 2010.
Many holding letters later and 1 phone call from HSBC in July asking me for further info, I have now got a letter from them saying that they have upheld my complaint and its now with the calculations team whom will get back to me within 4 weeks :j

So happy, Not sure exactly how much I will get but it should amount to around £4000 before any interest is applied

Have to share it with the ex but nevermind. Cant believe it, just for the cost of a stamp!!

Thanks everyone for your help - I am more of a lurker but the info is invaluable.

Sorry to bump this but Tifosi feels something may not be right with their calcs. Could someone run a check over them before I go to the bank!:eek:

hi can i ask when u had your egg card out is it still running well done on your win

    Hi

I no longer have the card, think I had it around 2006.

I have now been sent two forms from Barclays to fill out. I phoned them and one of the reference numbers refers to a loan I had out in 2000!

    Hi
I have received a letter from Barclaycard regarding my PPI claim (they did write back in June to advsie that they would offer a gesture of goodwill payment by 31st August). The letter I received on 5th August is settling the claim in full - just over £12k I have had my Barclaycard since 1998 and they have averaged the monthly PPI payments at approx £21 and have used this to go back to 1998. The breakdown is as follows:

    Refund of PPI Cover £3300
    Refund of Interest £7155
8% simple interest per annum £1850

I am SO SO SO happy and I am looking for a cheap holiday :-)

Well done, that is excellent and great that they have started to pay out.
When did you first complain about PPI to Barclaycard? Just wondering how long I am going to have to wait for my "goodwill offer" to come through the post.
Hope you have a great holiday.

On the 11.08.11 I contacted MBNA to lodge a complaint regarding the PPI on my credit card over the phone.

My sister also did the same with hers on the same day.

She called them today and they said that hers has gone to the rapid response team and she should hear back soon and should have her balance cleared plus overpayment.:T

When I called they were not mentioning anything about a rapid claim but did say I should get a letter within 5 days which explains I should get a response in 28 days. :undecided

They also wanted to know why I felt I was mis sold, I explained I was working in my own business on a part time basis, of which she said for how many hours per week did I work. I explained I worked 15hrs per week and this was something that I didn't want which why although I had the card from 1998-2009 I stopped the PPI in 2001 when I found out I was paying for it.

After that call I am feeling a little unsure if they are going to try and wriggle out of it.:undecided

I also found out my interest rate was 20.9% of which my average balance was £3,000 for the 3 years.

Can anyone work out what I paid in PPI and interest?
    Mortgage Feb 2015 £178,500 END 2043!!

    MFW 2015 £100 /£1000

Watch this space, my MF end date will tumble!!

Hello. I have two loans one with Halifax and one with Northern Rock. I've been over all the paperwork and cannot see any PPI or similar taken out, does that mean the loans do not have it, or is there a chance they could be buried in the final monthly amount? I guess what I'm asking is if it is worth approaching them on the off chance?
