  • Hi
I have received a letter from Barclaycard regarding my PPI claim (they did write back in June to advsie that they would offer a gesture of goodwill payment by 31st August). The letter I received on 5th August is settling the claim in full - just over £12k I have had my Barclaycard since 1998 and they have averaged the monthly PPI payments at approx £21 and have used this to go back to 1998. The breakdown is as follows:

    Refund of PPI Cover £3300
    Refund of Interest £7155
8% simple interest per annum £1850

I am SO SO SO happy and I am looking for a cheap holiday :-)

    Hello There,

You can start a complaint if you have your account number. ;) Its easy to do yourself, so i would avoid a claims company. ;). You can do the complaint over the phone or via letter form, its up to you :D

to get you started, Look here for info and reasons for being miss-sold your ppi

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/rec...nsurance#step2

Once you have had a read though and have your reasons. You will need to fill in a consumer complaints questionnaire. Which I would download, have a read though and familiarise yourself with the questionnaire and its layout. The questionnaire can be found here

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/rec...nsurance#step3

the main info you will need to complete the questionnaire is:
    1. Loan account number/numbers OR CC account number/ numbers
    2. start date
    3. finish date
    4. and your reasons
also have a read here for even more information:

    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.u...PPI-forms.html

then complete the form and send it off. If you ring your bank or CC company they may have a ppi complaint line and can start your complaint for you over the phone but id get as much info ready before phoning them. If you start a complaint over the phone, they will ask the reasons why you felt mis-sold so have all the information ready and be prepared.

simples, hope that may help, good luck :D

  • Hi,

I was pestered by two PPi reclaim companies last year, I mean these guys really took it upon each other to hound me to the point that I almost considered changing my mobile number... However looking into it, I thought no - I can claim the PPi back myself, and so using advice I found on this forum I started the ball rolling to get my PPi back.

Then I sort of forgot about the ball, ... forgot it was in motion, left it alone being too busy with work and moving.

Then out of the blue this Saturday HSBC sent me a letter to say they would be contacting me again in 4 weeks with a settlement figure. :T

I have not been in contact with the FO, nor did I harras HSBC more than once, I simply sent them the letter outlining my disgust and almost 8 months later they are contacting me off their own back.
Is this for real? Pinch me because I feel like I'm dreaming...
