Hello. I have two loans one with Halifax and one with Northern Rock. I've been over all the paperwork and cannot see any PPI or similar taken out, does that mean the loans do not have it, or is there a chance they could be buried in the final monthly amount? I guess what I'm asking is if it is worth approaching them on the off chance?
Take the monthly payment and times it by the term if that comes to the loan amount you borrowed with interest, then there is no ppi on there.0 -
afternoon all
this is my first time on a forum, i subbmitted my ppi claim myself on 25 oct last year and was then told my claim has been affected by the judical review and put on hold untill the outcome of the court case, now 10 months later i have had no joy after numerus phone calls (being told that i will have a reply by 31st aug) where do i stand on this as this cant be right because if my claim has yet to be seen what about the people whos claims were subbitted after me?
Is this Barclays? if it is email

hi just thought id share my news with everyone, ive been reading on here all the stories about claiming back ppi . i have had a few loans over the years and thought id give it a try at claiming back my ppi, i really thought i had no chance at all. so i sent off two templates to santander the original loans were with alliance and leicester i claimed i was missold ppi as i was not told i could get ppi cheaper elsewere or if i came out of work i was only covered for twelve months that was the 30th may got the usual letter of reciept off them then this saturday a letter came i thought this is going to be a knockback so i opened it i couldnt believe it they had upheld my claim and gone back to 2000 and found in total i had 5 loans and they had offered me £7858. i nearly fell on the floor i thought i never had a cat in hells chance it just goes to show no matter how slim you think your chances are give it a try you got nothing to lose. santander seem to one of the best to sort this out just waiting for my wifes reply now from the halifax shes been waiting 3 weeks longer than me, just one thing im not sure about where do i stand with the inland revenue have they got a claim to any of this ? . thanks to everyone on here who gave me hope i owe you all a pint. many thanks again jimmy.:j:j0

Turns out that they've been sending post to the address they had on the system when I took the card out and not to the address I gave them when I complained - wouldn't be surprised if this is happening to a number of people!
She told me that my claim hasn't been upheld but then she said "only on the basis that you took it out when you applied for the card. I'll enclose a copy of your agreement along with details of how you can take your claim further with the FOS"
I'll wait to see exactly what it says in the letter but the "you took it out when you applied" excuse doesn't sit well with me - watch out MBNA I'm not going down without a fight
Hi there
So sorry to hear this, so did she actually confirm its the final decision?
Sometimes they do give you the opportunity to send further info in order for them to reconsider - as well as enclosing your rights of the FOS.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
It has taken quite a while (around 8 months) as my claim fell just before the banks went the the High Court, however I'd used the templates and went through all the procedures as recommended.
This morning I got a letter from LloydsTSB offering a settlement of over £11,500. What I hadn't realised is they have to put you back in the same position as if you hadn't taken the insurance, which meant part of the interest added to the credit card including the PPI loan was also refunded, plus a flat 8%:rotfl:.
I've got another claim for a similar amount still under investigation with another bank so I'll let you know how that one pans out!
Cheers
