afternoon all
this is my first time on a forum, i subbmitted my ppi claim myself on 25 oct last year and was then told my claim has been affected by the judical review and put on hold untill the outcome of the court case, now 10 months later i have had no joy after numerus phone calls (being told that i will have a reply by 31st aug) where do i stand on this as this cant be right because if my claim has yet to be seen what about the people whos claims were subbitted after me?
Hi Dan
Sorry to hear this and as you may now be aware, some of the banks have been given more time to deal with these complaints because of backlogs, some have been with them for a year and have been told 31 August. Not long to go now but you can still contact them anytime to ask for an update, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
HSBC Success
I completed the questionnaire and sent this in June 2010.
Many holding letters later and 1 phone call from HSBC in July asking me for further info, I have now got a letter from them saying that they have upheld my complaint and its now with the calculations team whom will get back to me within 4 weeks :j
So happy, Not sure exactly how much I will get but it should amount to around £4000 before any interest is applied
Have to share it with the ex but nevermind. Cant believe it, just for the cost of a stamp!!
Thanks everyone for your help - I am more of a lurker but the info is invaluable.
Well done to you!:T & Congratulations!:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
hi just thought id share my news with everyone, ive been reading on here all the stories about claiming back ppi . i have had a few loans over the years and thought id give it a try at claiming back my ppi, i really thought i had no chance at all. so i sent off two templates to santander the original loans were with alliance and leicester i claimed i was missold ppi as i was not told i could get ppi cheaper elsewere or if i came out of work i was only covered for twelve months that was the 30th may got the usual letter of reciept off them then this saturday a letter came i thought this is going to be a knockback so i opened it i couldnt believe it they had upheld my claim and gone back to 2000 and found in total i had 5 loans and they had offered me £7858. i nearly fell on the floor i thought i never had a cat in hells chance it just goes to show no matter how slim you think your chances are give it a try you got nothing to lose. santander seem to one of the best to sort this out just waiting for my wifes reply now from the halifax shes been waiting 3 weeks longer than me, just one thing im not sure about where do i stand with the inland revenue have they got a claim to any of this ? . thanks to everyone on here who gave me hope i owe you all a pint. many thanks again jimmy.:j:j
Well done and Congratulations Jimmy :T:beer::j

Hi just received news that my claim for credit card PPI has been successful.
My claim was against MBNA and I have received £12,520.91
I just filled in the form form Martins Money and posted it direct to MBNA. MBNA wrote to me a couple of times to inform me that they had received my claim and were carrying out an investigation. Two months later I got the good news.
My refund breaks down like this.
PPI charged £5318.25
Interest on PPI £7,051.15
Total amount of 8% interest £151.51
Total payment to me £12,520.91
Fantastic, thanks Martin. Never thought I would get anything like this back:rotfl:0 -

Hi Hope someone can help. I have a barclaycard visa which I have had since 2001. I have been paying PPI on this card up until now. I have all of my statements and have calculated the amount of PPI for each month and also calculated the compound interest based on the APR as it is today. Is this the correct way to calculate the interest I am owed? I am getting a little confused as I keep reading about simple interest. Which interest should I be basing my calculations on? Compound or simple, or both.
Thanks in advance.0 -
