    Many thanks :D

My Credit Card is 13 years old and I have estimated the PPI premiums to be around £3,500.

I just hope they apply the interest in the same way yours did as my APR is nearly 30%

Good luck - hope it all comes good.

Thanks to all for your kind posts. I would have responded earlier but have been down the pub (ahem!) with the wife.

Throughout this process I've found the key to getting the right result is tenacity. The banks will try to stall and draw out the process but they know ultimately that they will have to settle legitimate claims. But, and this is a big BUT, that tenacity has only come from the brilliant advice of the long serving posters on this forum.

Before I started the process of reclaiming I thought I didn't stand a chance of getting a result and today I am pinching myself at what has happened.

So to all who are waiting, starting or considering a claim, follow through, don't give up and keep trying, you will succeed.

And sincere thanks to the 'sage' posters of the forum who give the advice, support and va va voom to get the results of which I have benifited from.

Now I really must go and lie down. Good night to all.

Sooooooo chuffed for you, and I don't blame you going to the pub to celebrate, why not hey?:D:T:T.

You deserve you're money, it belongs with you, so well done!:beer:

  • Congratulations to all those who have won - been away for a couple of days so not been on here much!! But I understand lots are starting to get their money back now.

I received my "upheld" letter from Egg on 2/8/11 (already posted details on here) and have seen that they have already cleared my balance (they did this on 3/8/11). They stated in their letter that I would receive a cheque within7-10 days so any day now I am expecting a nice cheque from the balance.

I noted though that someone posted on here that once they have given you your offer they have another 8 weeks to pay up - will this be true of First Plus/Barclays. Egg are under this umbrella and yet they have already paid of my balance and stated that I will receive a cheque within 7-10 days. So its all a little confusing I think!!

Anyone had any joy with Nationwide or Tesco Loans, I sent off all details to them and Northern Rock at the beginning of June and although they have both sent 2 letters saying they are looking into it I cant find any information on here as to how long they will actually take to give a decision.

For information Northern Rock agreed my claim within 5 weeks and I am now just stuck in the 28 days payment promise for my cash from them, I have to say I am very impressed with the service and letters to this point from them.

    Thanks Di :-)

Do you think it's worth sending the £10 for my docs? They said they have nothing that will help my case and that I have to go into a branch to collect them even though I now live in Northern Ireland and I don't think there is any Lloyds over here.

Can they lie when you ask for details and just say they dont have them?

I understand you can request for your data (SAR) at any time, whether or not anything will be enclosed beyond the last 6 years though is difficult to predict with Lloyds, when I requested for my data, I received info going back to the very late 90's, yet there was a list of sheets of all loans taken out enclosed from my very first loan in the mid 90's, so that is up to you of course.

There is a full sar letter template below.

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553

And the address you send to.....

    LLOYDS TSB BANK PLC
    DSAR TEAM
    CUSTOMER SERVICES
    RECOVERY TEAM
    CHARLTON PLACE C57
    ANDOVER
    HAMPSHIRE
    SP10 1RE

I would do so in recorded delivery though, and if they are not able to supply anything - they must write to explain and return your payment of £10 cheque or postal order for this request.

    Good luck.;)

I started my claim with Barclays in May 2011, I have received a letter saying they will respond by 3rd October. I really hope they do pay out and don't try to wriggle out of it. I look a loan out and they insisted I took the ppi because "for such a large loan you wouldn't get accepted" this is despite banking with Barclays for many years, they could see my track record and I never defaulted on a previous loan. I then tried to cancel the ppi at a later date, and they advised me I couldn't. Image how annoyed I was to find out that they blantantly lied to me twice! So much for friendly banking. Despite this I am still a Barclays customer (must be mad). Anyway, I have my fingers crossed that they will repay me my money after seeing the other success stories on this site. :)

    Hi and welcome

Fingers crossed for you, please keep us posted, cheers.;)

I sent off my form to welcome nearly 3 weeks ago now, are they supposed to acknowledge receipt? Just curious really, as to how this works.

I would ring them and ask them to confirm delivery, althoigh I can understand it may take some time because of backlogs, however do you know Welcome Finance are in default and claims are also being dealt with by the Financial compensation scheme (FSCS)?
Sorry if this is the form you are mentioning lol.

    http://www.fscs.org.uk/what-we-cover/questions-and-answers/qas-for-welcome-financial-hn0qripj/

If it is the FSCS claim form you mean, there is no harm in ringing them, they will confirm if the form has been received.

    Good luck.;)

    Hi there

Don't worry about this, the form is standard procedure, some don't mind letters where others prefer reclaim questionnaire's which previously replaced the template reclaiming letters.

Good luck on all you're reclaiming.;)

Just spoke to a lady at MBNA, she says my claim is NOT being upheld, Final Responce, and a letter with a copy of my original application form is being sent back to me. BOO!!!

Has this happened to anyone else? shall I go to the FOS?

    Hi there

So sorry to hear this, and usually from here you can complain to the FOS, they should enclose details of these if eligible to go this direction, so basically as long as EGG were regulated at the time you taken out the account you can complain to the FOS, otherwise when you receive the letter see what it states and we can take it from there.;)
