New user.

Well done to everyone today. I am new to this and feel that I will be requiring lots of help from all you specialists out there. I have started the process and requested my agreements details for 2 Loans From the Dreaded Lloyds TSB. The first one has my signature on the loan PPI but the ticks in the boxes are computer generated. Would this matter as they never explained to me that the Insurance was optional or that I could get insurance elsewhere. I stupidly assumed it was the norm.

The second one again with Lloyds is a bit strange as they have sent me a blank agreement form and stated

'There is no requirement under the CCA to provide you with a copy of your signed agreement but please be assured we would not have advanced a loan without having sight of a signed agreement.'

Again on this one no one explained to me about PPI and being a bit poor with money issues thought that it wasnt an option.

One last question. Ages ago I stupidly took out an agreement with with YES CAR CREDIT, or better known as Direct Auto Finance. Because this was so long ago, and before they were regulated, i was wondering if this is a lost cause as i have searched everywhere on the forums and the internet and can't find anyone with anyjoy. (apologies in advance if I have posted this in the wrong bit).

    Thanks

    Mark

    Hi,

LTSB1 - no problem still claiming here - they still need to prove they went through the correct process to seell the PPI to you (employment status, any illness, savings that meantt you could pay off if ill/redundant etc)

LTSB2 - how did you request the copies of the docs? you may need to send a SAR (Subject Access Request) to get all the data you need - this costs £10

YES - how old was the loan?

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

    Good luck.

he didnt answer my email - but I did get a response from FOS recentley re my Barclaycard claim saying that Barclays are paying out -in date order & are doing them in batches.
I understand that they will be paying out in accordance with FOS guidelines - no funny business.
    Barclays have confirmed this.

    Time will tell.

;) Thank you will give it a try and will let you know if I get a response.

I sent off my form to welcome nearly 3 weeks ago now, are they supposed to acknowledge receipt? Just curious really, as to how this works.

Well I think the first week in August has been really good for wins. May it continue for the rest of the month , and let's hope I get some news from Firstplus ;)

I started my claim with Barclays in May 2011, I have received a letter saying they will respond by 3rd October. I really hope they do pay out and don't try to wriggle out of it. I look a loan out and they insisted I took the ppi because "for such a large loan you wouldn't get accepted" this is despite banking with Barclays for many years, they could see my track record and I never defaulted on a previous loan. I then tried to cancel the ppi at a later date, and they advised me I couldn't. Image how annoyed I was to find out that they blantantly lied to me twice! So much for friendly banking. Despite this I am still a Barclays customer (must be mad). Anyway, I have my fingers crossed that they will repay me my money after seeing the other success stories on this site. :)

    Hi forum

I posted yesterday about a settled claim from egg and today has been even better.

I sent a claim letter to MBNA but heard nothing for a while I then decided to email the CEO, it read:

I sent a letter reclaiming mis-sold card repayment protection insurance on the 9th July 2011 and as yet I have not received any acknowledgement of my claim.

I am disappointed that I have not been contacted in respect of the above as I am a long standing customer of some 17 years and the lack of response does not constitute good customer service.

I believe that I have a legitimate claim as throughout the time I have held an account with MBNA I have been self employed and the way in which I was sold the insurance was not in my best interests.

I respectfully request a response at your earliest convenience and sincerely hope you will look into why a long standing customer has been treated in such a lax and nonplussed fashion.

They responded within a day and the matter was passed to a claims manager who said they would respond in seven days.

I hadn't heard anything so I sent an email today asking if I could expect a response, to cut a long story this is the reponse I got:

I can confirm that your complaint has been upheld.
    The refunds are as follows:

Total amount of PPI premiums charged since sale date: £4,869.74
Total amount of interest associated with the PPI premiums: £17,359.88
Total amount of 8% interest: £1,476.72

    Total amount payable: £23,706.34

They advised that a cheque would be sent within 28 days.

Its been a very good week to say the least!

Thanks to all again who have helped me get this result.

Now I need to lie down.

I read this and thought to myself how disgusting MBNA need a kick up the a**e, where the hell is the £300.00 inconvience!!!!!

Nice one pal, I will probably take my wife to the pub for a glass of wine if I got that kind of figure back form my claim with MBNA.

ONE glass we ain't made of money!!!

    Hi There,

the FOS questionnaire/ consumer complaints questionnaire has replaced all the template letters and is the norm now as it provides all the information that is needed or required by them and if your complaint is rejected it will then be required by the FOS to follow up with your complaint. So no need to be paranoid and best of luck :D

Wow Well done, lucky you didn't go through a claims company, imagine having to give them 25% of that + VAT :)

    £7,111.90

Basically more than most people are claiming for and just for sending a letter.
