Hi forum

I posted yesterday about a settled claim from egg and today has been even better.

I sent a claim letter to MBNA but heard nothing for a while I then decided to email the CEO, it read:

I sent a letter reclaiming mis-sold card repayment protection insurance on the 9th July 2011 and as yet I have not received any acknowledgement of my claim.

I am disappointed that I have not been contacted in respect of the above as I am a long standing customer of some 17 years and the lack of response does not constitute good customer service.

I believe that I have a legitimate claim as throughout the time I have held an account with MBNA I have been self employed and the way in which I was sold the insurance was not in my best interests.

I respectfully request a response at your earliest convenience and sincerely hope you will look into why a long standing customer has been treated in such a lax and nonplussed fashion.

They responded within a day and the matter was passed to a claims manager who said they would respond in seven days.

I hadn't heard anything so I sent an email today asking if I could expect a response, to cut a long story this is the reponse I got:

I can confirm that your complaint has been upheld.
The refunds are as follows:

Total amount of PPI premiums charged since sale date: £4,869.74
Total amount of interest associated with the PPI premiums: £17,359.88
Total amount of 8% interest: £1,476.72

Total amount payable: £23,706.34

They advised that a cheque would be sent within 28 days.

Its been a very good week to say the least!

Thanks to all again who have helped me get this result.

Now I need to lie down.

OMgoodG!!! whoaaa, brilliant amount, whoop whoop, enjoy spending!:T:T

Well done to everyone today. I am new to this and feel that I will be requiring lots of help from all you specialists out there. I have started the process and requested my agreements details for 2 Loans From the Dreaded Lloyds TSB. The first one has my signature on the loan PPI but the ticks in the boxes are computer generated. Would this matter as they never explained to me that the Insurance was optional or that I could get insurance elsewhere. I stupidly assumed it was the norm.

The second one again with Lloyds is a bit strange as they have sent me a blank agreement form and stated

'There is no requirement under the CCA to provide you with a copy of your signed agreement but please be assured we would not have advanced a loan without having sight of a signed agreement.'

Again on this one no one explained to me about PPI and being a bit poor with money issues thought that it wasnt an option.

One last question. Ages ago I stupidly took out an agreement with with YES CAR CREDIT, or better known as Direct Auto Finance. Because this was so long ago, and before they were regulated, i was wondering if this is a lost cause as i have searched everywhere on the forums and the internet and can't find anyone with anyjoy. (apologies in advance if I have posted this in the wrong bit).

Thanks

i first applied using template on 26/05/2011

Blooming ages.....mine has been ongoing since last September.
Newer claims seem to be being actioned more quickly though....

They have at last told me my claim is upheld and they will let me know how much they will be returning to me.

Good luck.

Can anybody help me I am trying to find the e-mail address for Bob Diamond chief exec at Barclays. :D

robert.diamond@barclaysplc.com

Good luck.

he didnt answer my email - but I did get a response from FOS recentley re my Barclaycard claim saying that Barclays are paying out -in date order & are doing them in batches.
I understand that they will be paying out in accordance with FOS guidelines - no funny business.
Barclays have confirmed this.

Time will tell.
