I have 3 loans with Halifax in past 6 years.
They have paid me back this morning £5000 in PPI. I did have a financial adviser doing this for me, so have to pay them 25% But am still happy with the result :j

Now i am looking to tackle the catalogues and credit card companys myself

:j:jCongratulations Marie and good luck with the next ones! If you need any help, you know where to come...:j:j

    Another thank you from me.....

Called MBNA as the post says and said that it'd been upheld, was a little too polite for my likening (Lol) he told me £3733.83 was due and how it was worked out. I was gobsmacked; I’d calculated £1900, bad math, bad math!!!

I've won 2 now, unfortunately 1st was through a 3rd party, slap wrist.

Advice to anyone, you may think it's daunting when you get the paperwork, but think about it before you answer the question. It’s easy and the VERY nice people on here will help and they don't ask for anything, they do it to help other people out of their own heart. Not a religious person, but you are all saints, god bless ya!!!

:T:TYou're welcome and huge congrats on your good news!:T:T

Woohoo first time i've been able to smile for a good reason in a while, I have a Bank of Scotland/halifax loan and i've got my proposed payment from them regarding the PPI refund, and i'm well chuffed.. :-) I'm glad I did it via this website from the forms, rather than use a lawyers office who were going to take a percentage..

Thanks Martin Lewis for this site yer a star.

Just a bit of background for anyone thinking of claiming back PPI. I first came onto this site about 7 weeks ago looking for friendly advice, and was bowled over with the wonderful people offering advice, and sharing their experiences.
I was thinking of putting in claims for 2 loans taken out with Alliance and Leicester, one in 2003 and one in 2006,I had no paperwork for the earlier loan at all, but,on advice checked my on-line bankng statements (which go back 10 yrs Lloyds TSB) There,I found the account number of the loan, and along with the start date, acc number, and monthly payment, i rang Santander, and spoke to a very nice lady, who listened to my claims, and basically said "leave it to me" ! The latter loan was easier to trace as it is still running.
7 weeks later,I received an offer for the latter, which for a £10k loan over 5 years, was £3200,and no PPI payments for the last couple of payments due!
I am so chuffed with how easy it was, after being quite nervous about the initial phone call. One direct call and sorted!!
Now I'm just waiting for the payment to be processed, and hopefully an offer for the earlier loan. ( fingers crossed!!)
Thanks again to all the good people on here for the great advice, and urge anyone who is thinking of doing the same as me GO FOR IT!!! You've got nothing to lose. xx
