  • Hi Everyone

Been away for a while, had a major accident and ended up in hospital for 3 weeks. Got discharged last Friday and Saturday the postman brought me some fantastic news.

Remember I had 2 loans with Natwest, with PPI of £5000+ and £2300+ added on? Well they have upheld my claim and are offering me £12,500 which is accrued interest and the PPI. As I have my accounts with CCCS this will go towards clearing my balance which will leave me with £1800 to pay it off.

MBNA have upheld my claim and are sending me a cheque for £3034

Tesco have upheld my claim but will only send me for the last year which is £430

The war with Santander and my Evans storecard continues but I've been offered over £15,000 in refunds from 3 lenders and to be honest thats what I was hoping to get from all 11 of my claims so for me I'm one very happy bunny.

I want to thank all those who contribute and work selfishly to provide advice, guidance and support to all of us here. Without you pushing us along I for one wasn't even going to bother with this.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE AND THEIR CLAIMS.

I think they have been given a time extension of 16 weeks now, this doesnt affect all banks but they all seem to have taken a liking to this rule change ;)

  • Halifax are paying out!

I put in a claim using the letter on here in late march and had a couple of holding letters back .

I then rang the number on the letters about a month ago and spoke to a really nice young guy who said he could see my claim but couldnt guarantee anything other than that I would definetly hear, no matter what, by 31/8.

I was really respectful and nice to him.

I then got a letter confirming my phone call and the 31/8 deadline...

Last week I got a cheque for nearly £2k which was twice what I was hoping for !!!

I haven't had to do any questionnaires or anything.

I feel that my nice, polite phone call may have helped??They must get so many people ringing and giving them grief.

Either way, they are paying out so best of luck I hope you soon get the feeling I got when I opened that envelope expecting another bill and saw a cheque !!

    Best wishes

As you know I received approx. £1000 on Tuesday from Halifax. This however was put straight onto my credit card. Because I wanted to use the money to pay a bill by cheque, and give some cash to somebody I went into the Halifax and asked if they could transfer the amount from the Halifax credit card to my Halifax current account. The lady said "I don't know, but if you want you can use our phone's to ring the Halifax and find out". I WAS STANDING IN THE HALIFAX AT THE TIME!!!!
Anyway, I decided to withdraw the cash from the credit card and of course have now been charged £9 with each withdrawel. I am thinking of writing to the Halifax to ask for these £9's to be reimbursed, what would the general opinion be? £9 isn't much but when you can only take out £300 at a time so end up having to do there withdrawel's that is £27!

If your CC is in credit, they should be able to transfer a credit to your DD account with no fee's if it has a balance i think its classed as a cash advance and will have fee's worth a call and a wriggle to get out it paying the fee's though ;)

  • Firstly, finally got the best number to contact MBNA on
call the Customer Advocate Complaint office on 0800 917 6592 option 1 and option 1 again. If you complaint has been upheld, they will be able to give you a breakdown of due payment. hope this helps.

Secondly, has anyone put in a claim for overdraft charges? Is it worth going for?

  • Hi Everyone

Well, I finally got to speak to someone in MBNA's Customer Advocate Office to be told the following:

We received your complaint on 1st June 2011, and even though we have had it for over 9 weeks now, it has still not been allocated to an associate to investigate! It is likely that it will be allocated to someone in the next 2-3 weeks to start the investigations.

So, it looks like MBNA are working on a 16 week timeschedule as they will have had my claim for 12 weeks before they're even going to start looking into it

On the upside, the nice gentleman I spoke to said that I was free to give them a call for an update on the status of my claim whenever I liked - I might do, he sounded like a lovely fella :rotfl:
    Nationwide Loan - Success - £2,596.24 - 8 weeks Egg CC - Success - £99.51 - 2 weeks Lloyds CC - Success - £1,151.27 - 16 weeks & 2 days
Lloyds Loan - Success - £186.17 -Waiting for payment Virgin CC - Rejected - but 23 days into re-opened complaint - update overdue
