well I recieved a big fat no from Aviva for all my 8 welcome loans . They stated that they were not responsable for the selling of the ppi. Which is true it was Welcome but they wernt regulated when I took out these loans . So it looks like theres nothing more I can do x They also put I signed the agreement which yes is true but they dont get the point that I was told to in order to recieve the loan

After reading all the reclaim advice many times I decided to give it a go, I didn't expect much as I didn't even know if I qualified as my account with MBNA had been closed for some time, instead of writing I rang them. (a freephone number)
2 Weeks later a letter arrived telling me they would investigate, 1 week after that a letter arrived informing me the complaint would be upheld, about 3 weeks later a cheque arrived £3002.40.:j:beer::D

Without this site I would never have bothered thank you all so much, gave me the bottle to get MY money back, thanks again.:T

    HI,

this is brilliant news and a quicker way, can i ask what number you rang and what sort of questions did they ask and what answers did you give

    well done

What were you reclaiming: Credit Card PPI
    Who was the provider: Egg
How much did you get back: £8439
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter April 2011
And then write your brief reclaim tale: Sent questionnaire to Egg just before JR, they stalled a little but had regular letters saying they were looking into it and would be resolved by the end of August. Got the letter yesterday which is a HUGE relief.

hope you don't mind me joining in my claim was rejected by hfc in october last year and itook it straight to fos my adjuicator upheld my complaint but as far as i knew hfc did not agree with him so would need to go to ombudsman.my adjuicator is no longer with fos so spoke to new one yesterday and he saidhfc stated that there were unable to accept adjuicator decision due to proceedings at that time jr.so new guy says mines was on hold so they have till 31 august to reply that gives me some hope it could be dealt quicker than waiting for ombusmans decision i've got fingers crossed what about your claim is it the same as mine reply by 31st too
Hi yes l think so my adjuicator has advised me that HFC has not returned to them about my complaint, and HFC have agreed to inform them by 31/08 on which complaints they intend to uphold. But l dont know if this means my adjuicator has upheld my complaint or just waiting a response.
My case is not straightforward although l had account numbers and know l was miss-sold PPI at local branch HFC refused a SAR as they said because 6 year rule they destroyed my paperwork. On 21st April 2010 one of there CS persons gave me all info over phone and advised they had this electronically so l know they have all details of over £20k loans. I dont dispute signing for PPI which was of no use to me but l was told if l did not take PPI the loans would not be approved. My adjuicator Gemma is on holiday at present but she did call me and say she was willing to fight my case and she was going to do research on old loans to work about approx how much l paid in PPI. But she has given me no figures and what l can gather HFC are not even bothering to respond to her.
Good luck with yours and keep me updated.
  • Hi all
Just received £1107.29 from barclays for overdraft protection payments.
This was put directly into my account today. I am still waiting for them to pay for the ppi on 2 loans, although this shouldn't take long, hopefully.

This is a brilliant site full of help and inspiration.

Hi, Congrats on your success! Have you got a template for the letter you wrote to Barclays? This would be very helpful for me. Good luck on the other 2 PPI loans!!

    HI Yall,

I had 2 cc with hsbc and a personal loan, i got into financial difficultties and the bank put everything in a managed loan. i did have ppi on all 3 as they push you into it and then my oh did his back in and was off work for 2 years. i got in contact with the bank and to claim on ppi and was told that when they merged them all to the managed loan that you cannot have ppi on it. what sh***.

anywho i am gonna try to reclaim ppi but just noticed that you can claim cc charges as well, should i do one before the other or does it make a difference.

as anyone had any experiences with getting in touch with companys who have cc debt sold to them by the cc company you know when they pass the debt to someone else my sky card has been to someone else and i have read it is now barclaycard so do i write to the people who have the debt now

sorry for the long post and so many questions

    any help wpuld be appreciated

If you're in the 31st August "gang" theres little point in contacting them until that date as they are quite obviously swamped

There are people getting payouts from them (there have been a few within the last few days), but as with most of the banks, this does not seem to be happening in date order

If you want to see Halifax claims that have paid out, click "Search this thread" near the top right, under the page numbers (NOT "Forums search") and type in "Halifax" then click "Go" - this will show you all posts referencing Halifax

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!
