well I recieved a big fat no from Aviva for all my 8 welcome loans . They stated that they were not responsable for the selling of the ppi. Which is true it was Welcome but they wernt regulated when I took out these loans . So it looks like theres nothing more I can do x They also put I signed the agreement which yes is true but they dont get the point that I was told to in order to recieve the loan

Yes, there is something you can do - go to FOS - fill out the FOS questionnaire (unfortunately a seperate one for each of the 8 loans!) and send to FOS, they will investigate further - I beleive most Welcome complaints get upheld due to the PPI premium being frontloaded (so, its added right at the start of the loan and then gains interest - which at Welcome rates is no small amount!)

    What dates are the loans?

Post 2005 loans need to be taken to FSCS (Financial Services Compensation Service) rather than FOS

Do NOT let this knockback put you off, this is YOUR money, get it back!!

    :)

Oh, and look up the term "Vicarious Liability" - Aviva may deny liability, but Welcome were their appointed agents for the sale of this PPI, so it was their legal obligation to ensure sales standards were met

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

If you're in the 31st August "gang" theres little point in contacting them until that date as they are quite obviously swamped

There are people getting payouts from them (there have been a few within the last few days), but as with most of the banks, this does not seem to be happening in date order

If you want to see Halifax claims that have paid out, click "Search this thread" near the top right, under the page numbers (NOT "Forums search") and type in "Halifax" then click "Go" - this will show you all posts referencing Halifax
Thaks hon, didn't know that i could do that. Learn something new everyday! I shall wait till end of August then. Thaks again for your help:A

    Hi,

I think its important that people dont get too hung up on the August 31st/16 weeks timeline

You need to bear in mind that even after they agree to pay, they then have a FURTHER 8 weeks to calculate what they owe you and actually send the cheque/bank transfer

So for a lot (though I appreciate not all) this is going to mean not actually receiving payout until the end of October

The above is not meant to be a downer, just concerned that some may rely on the payment landing through their door by 31st August which I think for most is unlikely

    :(

    I agree :D

but it will be nice to know your complaint has been upheld ;)

and just a note again not a moan, if you have debts or are struggling please dont count on your ppi complaint to cover this, do not let your debt go un-managed ;)

and best of luck to everyone with their complaints :D;)

As Marksman says, I would be happy finding out that it has been upheld and waiting for the redress wouldn't be the end of the World.

    Hi

First of all well done on your better half's success!

Most of the banks as you are aware have been given more time, cannot remember the list literally, but I am aware that any of them may ask for more time if they're unable to deal with the complaint on the time they first said, hopefully this means good news for you, so fingers crossed, also if you ever need to email the CEO of MBNA the email is below, good luck.;)

    Thanks Di
it is now thursday and the letter has still not turned up. looks like they were just fobbing me off on the phone. I will send the e-mail now pointing out they have gone passed the 8 weeks for no reason and the false answer over the phone.
will let you know what happens.

    Hi all
Just received £1107.29 from barclays for overdraft protection payments.
This was put directly into my account today. I am still waiting for them to pay for the ppi on 2 loans, although this shouldn't take long, hopefully.

This is a brilliant site full of help and inspiration.

Hello when did you put your claim forward?
