What were you reclaiming: Credit Card
    Who was the provider: Barclaycard
How much did you get back: £598.92
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter October 2010
And then write your brief reclaim tale: Waited for JR, then had letter in June saying settlement by 31 August, received offer today

Last week I contacted both Egg & LLoyds TSB re mis-selling of PPI, and was told that I would hear from them in due course i.e. approx. 8-16 weeks which is the average wait at the moment. Today, I arrived home from work to find a letter from Egg with a cheque for over £1300!!!!! I can`t tell you how delighted I am. This will come in very handy, as we`re off to Spain in a couple of weeks time. Let`s hope LLoyds will do the same:j:j:j

You need to chase them, Santander average (for A+L and Abbey loan, at least) seems to be about 1 - 2 weeks

The number for Santander PPI complaints is: 0845 600 6014 and for PPI complaints its option 2 then option 4 then option 2
this was an old loan with ge capital woodchester anyone know anything about them

argggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh  I thought we were so close but just had an automatic response from FOS to say that our contact has left the company

We haven't made contact with the company we are complaining against, I just wanted to know if we should contact them directly - we are currently waiting for an offer letter - our FOS contact had been pushing them but don't know whether we should be chasing directly for our offer letter????

Maybe after starting the reclaim just over 2 years ago, I was being slightly optimistic that we were almost there :rotfl:

    Hi there
I can't see no harm in you contacting them, after over 2 years, I would be doing the same.
    Good luck on this.;)

Hello, just wanted to give an update on my ppi claim against my Natwest cc. I wrote to Natwest/RBS in Nov 2010 using template from this site, was told in Dec claim was put on hold due to JR, then had letter in May saying due to outcome of JR I would receive a response to my complaint by 31/08/11. Got another letter yesterday saying they has finished their "review into the concerns raised about my PPI" and "under the circumstances, given the amount of time since I made my complaint and as a gesture of goodwill without any admission of liabilty the bank is prepared to make me an offer of £2912.19"!!!

I am absolutely thrilled and wanted to take opportunity to say thanks to this site and the fantastic advice given by many especially the one and only "dizzy di", BUT, I just have one more question (I know getting cheeky now). They have said if I accept the offer they will credit it to my credit card (which to be fair is nearly maxed out) but I noticed an earlier post saying they were not allowed to do this and must send a cheque. Is this the case???

They are only allowed to apply the refund to any arrears you have

So, if you are £1k in arrears and are getting a £2919 refund, they must send you a £1919 refuund via cheque and apply the 1k to arrears

If you have no arrears, you should insist the full amount is sent via cheque

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

    Hiya Nat

    Thanks for posting this up.

Golly  that is extremely high, hopefully they are still taking on more staff to cater for this.
Good luck with yours too x;)

    Morning Dizzy Di :D

Let's hope the long wait will be worth it in the end ;)
