I complained to barclays about mis-sold PPI using the shell letter on here, had a letter back saying they were looking into it and today had £108 credited to my bank account in settlement  thanks Martin for the advice

Feel like Adrian Mole waiting for the giro!!!!

Had a claim upheld by MBNA, they stated 'we will send a cheque in 28 days'. I emailed them on 13th July stating that they hadn't sent the cheque within the 28 days. They were very apologetic and said they'd post ot that day and I should have it on 15th or 16th July.

So, 18th July and still no cheque!! I emailed again and was told it had definately been posted and to wait a couple more days.

20th July - still no cheque. I emailed again and asked that maybe they'd like to do a direct bank transfer instead because if they'd sent the cheque on 13th or 14th July it had obviously gone missing in the post. The reply came that if I'd not received it by Friday then they will 'review the options'

Today is 21st and no cheque came from Mr Postman! Anyone rate my chances for tomorrow's post?!!

Hi Lisa i have still got at least twelve days to wait but in readiness for it not turning up on time have you got the Email address for mbna would be grateful thanks and would you know if they send it recorded mail ?

It's customercare@firstplus.co.uk

I emailed them regarding my claim and received a letter a few days after adding another few days onto the date they said they would contact me by!

I also received a letter from Firstplus putting my date back by a few more days :(:( You feel like you are getting near your date and then it gets put back.

Hi,

someone will correct me if I'm wrong here, but to me that sounds like a load of "manure" - they purchased the accounts, and with that came all the rights AND responsibilities of it

So they should be responsible for alll refunds, not just to 2001

I have a suspicion if you to Abbey they'll tell you to go to MBNA - ping pong, anyone?

FOS seems most likely the approach for this is MBNA wont cough up

they told me the same, I called Santander on the number Amersall provided, they took the details in a 5 min phone conversation, asked me why I felt I was mis sold, then said I would have letter within 14 days or so. Very easy and they understood why I was talking to them after talking to MBNA. this was the link to the phone number. http://www.santander.co.uk/csgs/Satellite?appID=abbey.internet.Abbeycom&c=Page&canal=CABBEYCOM&cid=1210607166846&empr=Abbeycom&leng=en_GB&pagename=Abbeycom%2FPage%2FWC_ACOM_TemplateA2

That's great news! Certainly the first one I have seen from Barclays so far.
Can I ask, was it a loan from Barclays or one of their credit cards you were claiming against?
I have an outstanding claim for PPI on a CC and still waiting for my offer.
• I recently posted questions regarding claiming back PPI. I started with my BarclayCard this evening. After a surprisingly pleasant conversation with them they told me ive been payin £14.79pm for "protection" which i truly had no idea about this started on 22/10/07.

If i made a claim does it mean i'd be getting 45 months x £14.79.

I have the correct address for the bank to contact and everything
• Think I am becomming obsessed with all this. Every day I cant wait to get home from work just to check what the postman has brought - and then become really sad and down when "nothing" arrives!! My OH is on annual leave after tomorrow for 3 weeks which means he will ge the "nothing" before me but if there is "something" he will get all the glory after I have done all the hard work!!!!

I just wish they would all get their acts together quicker than what they are doing its sooooo frustrating this "not knowing".

Yea but the problem is some of the claims are in joint name - especially the "big" one I am waiting to hear about!!!
