    I put a claim in with Halifax on 21st April, when I spoke to them on Friday they told me it was with the redress team. I have just logged onto online banking and there is £1,110 in my account credited by cash yesterday, I can only think this is from Halifax, :j:j:j:j:j, but I shall ring them today and double check before I pay my credit card off, oh happy days. :D:D

    Well done and Congratulations!:T:beer::j

    Sorry to be a pain Dame Di (!!) but I recall the company is G.E Capital which I think is different to G E Money. Also re read the letter and they do not give me details of FOS but FLA Finance and Leasing Association...is this the same?? No leaflets or anything.

    Hi

    Have not long got here :D Dame Di lol :D and your not a pain lol bless X

    First of all then they are saying they were not covered by the FSA, so in this case the FOS will not be able to investigate as they were not regulated by these, but the FLA is an alternative avenue.
    The FLA going by many posts on here are not all that helpful, but there have been some success through them, so this is the direction you can try if the business does not overturn the decision in the following week or if you do not hear anything within the week.

    If you ended going to the FLA and they state they're unable to help, then it will be a matter of contacting the FOS anyway, and they will possibly suggest the underwriter/insurer of the policy, but we will get to that stage if it comes to it, see what happens over the following week first. ;)

    When my son made a complaint about a store card via Burtons, all letters were sent to Santander, so they had to investigate the complaint, and if they're the ones who sent the decision, then any further correspondence I believe should be sent back to them.

    So just to cover yourself, I would still forward the letter to Santander and make them aware that a copy of this is also sent to GE Cap, it will probably be Santander that ends up dealing with it anyway.
    The problem I'm having here is, when clicking on to GE Capital, it takes me back to GE Money (maybe they are the same business as such).

    Personally though, I would send the letter to whoever's address is on the letter, as they are acting on behalf of GE, just like with my son's.;)

    Well, I am currently waiting for a call back at some point today.

    I spoke to a claims team adviser and shockingly, he didn't understand the impact of the PPI payments suffering additional interest whilst they were added to my card balance and why I was suggesting that simply refunding premiums and adding 8% simple interest certainly does not mean that I haven't been disadvantaged.

    When I told him that I had paid 36 Credit Card payments as per my credit report and they have offered me a refund of only 9 premiums, he said he would get someone to look at that, and also the extra interest query.

    He has since called me back and told me to whom he has passed my query and that they will call me back later and get this, there is apparently a team, including a supervisor looking at it.

    Doesn't exactly fill me with confidence tbh :rotfl:

    One thing is for sure, they now know that it is futile to try and 'get one over me', so I would imagine they will now want rid of IANC :D

    I even had to explain the effect of compounding to him, and he is a claims handler :eek:

    Good for you Ian :T and fingers crossed x;)
