Morning all,
Well today I received a letter from Halifax to say they have upheld my 2 loan complaints i had with them!! :j:j One cheque was for £336, that was for a small loan taken out in 2001. Then a few months later I took out a new loan to pay that one off and have some extra money. So for the second loan I got £1120  £700 has been deducted to pay off the rest of my loan, leaving me with a cheque for £420!
I'm a very happy bunny as I am now debt free for the first time in 10 years!! Yippee!!
Just waiting to hear about my Halifax Credit Card now, hopefully shouldn't be much longer as a couple of weeks ago I was told it is with the calculations team.:D
Thanks to this fantastic site and all the wonderful people on here that have helped along the way :T:A:T
Good luck to you all, i'm sure you will all hear some good news soon
Congratulations Boycey
May i ask when you lodged your complaint and how much the loans where for - just so i have a rough idea of when we can hear SOMETHING from the horrid Halifax...!
Well done again !0 -

Feel like Adrian Mole waiting for the giro!!!!
Had a claim upheld by MBNA, they stated 'we will send a cheque in 28 days'. I emailed them on 13th July stating that they hadn't sent the cheque within the 28 days. They were very apologetic and said they'd post ot that day and I should have it on 15th or 16th July.
So, 18th July and still no cheque!! I emailed again and was told it had definately been posted and to wait a couple more days.
20th July - still no cheque. I emailed again and asked that maybe they'd like to do a direct bank transfer instead because if they'd sent the cheque on 13th or 14th July it had obviously gone missing in the post. The reply came that if I'd not received it by Friday then they will 'review the options'
Today is 21st and no cheque came from Mr Postman! Anyone rate my chances for tomorrow's post?!!0 -

Well done again !
Thanks
I lodged one of the complaints early December last year and the other one was about 18th April this year.
Actually I have wrote a letter to Halifax today because the calculations don't look right to me  i'm sure they've underpaid me!
The first loan was for £2500 and the PPI added to it was £411. I paid the loan off after 9 months when i got another loan with Halifax. So I would of had an early settlemnt figure. Well Halifax have only paid me £165.06 in refund of premiums, the rest is made up of interest. They haven't added any early settlement figure into the calculations!
The second loan was for £3650.00 and the PPI added to it was £919. I still had £700 outstanding on this loan. But again Halifax have underpaid me because they've calculated the refund of premiums is £621.70. Well there is no way that I still had £300 of PPI left on a balance of £700!!
Does anyone else think that doesn't sound right??:)
So do be careful and do check the calculations when you receive your good news
Good luck0 -

How frustrating!
Did they say it was going to be sent by normal post or for it to be signed for?
Couriers for the Royal Mail can arrive at any time of the day, but I can understand your frustration.
Hope you receive your money soon x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I put a claim in with Halifax on 21st April, when I spoke to them on Friday they told me it was with the redress team. I have just logged onto online banking and there is £1,110 in my account credited by cash yesterday, I can only think this is from Halifax, :j:j:j:j:j, but I shall ring them today and double check before I pay my credit card off, oh happy days.
:D
So chuffed to hear that Halifax are doing right by some of their customers for once!
I first wrote to them in January and again in march and again in may etc etc, Got the email sent to them friday and yesterday i got a phone call saying it had JUST been passed to calculations, so fingers crossed i hear something as quick as you did once you had the call!
