I thought it would be better to get in contact with the claims handler first thing in the morning and ask for proof that I only paid the 9 payments mentioned.

I will threaten contacting the CEO and FOS and even the papers :rotfl:if I find out that they are not following the claims process as laid out by the FSA.

Ignoring the compounding effect of the 8% interest on payments, I would be due 4 times that amount.

Also, I want to know why I haven't received the interest back that I paid on the ppi payments that were added to my card at the prevailing credit card interest rate.

Do you agree that I should also receive the interest back at the rate of the card on the PPI premiums?
    I'm a secret crime fighter ;)

Had a letter today from Santander saying the Burtons/B&Q and Kwik Fit ppi claims are not being withheld as the ppi boxes have been ticked. They have sent copies of them. I have no recollection of ticking these or this being explained to me.:(:(:( Have said I can take it further to ombudsman but I feel like giving up as I am small fish in a ruddy big ocean. Wouldn't know what to say or how to word things giving the impression I wont be taken for a mug. Very sad.:(:( If anyone can offer any advice would be really greatful.
    ......................................................................................

Letter below and have made it plain as possible in order for the business to understand lol. Hope it helps you. Good luck.

    Your address

    Address of Business

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Account number XXXXXXXXXX

Thank you for your letter dated XX/XX/XXXX.

I understand you have issued me with the Final Decision and have enclosed details of the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) if I am not happy with the outcome.

I am very disappointed with your decision and believe you have overlooked my reasons and not taken them into consideration.
And you have not given me an opportunity to give further information on my complaint, and as a good customer I feel it's only fair that you give me a right to do this.

You have rejected my complaint because the Credit Agreement was ticked for Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) - where I must state, I cannot recall on opting for this cover, and for that matter I believe it was not ticked by myself.

I also have statements - which do not enclose anything of the Insurance, and it's only because I have the Agreement I note Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) was included.
I understand details of any Insurance should be enclosed on the statements, this does not apply to mine.

I have copies of the statements if required, but understand you will also have them held on the files of my account if you need to refer to these.

I would not have opted to take the Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) and I would clearly remember this if this was the case.

I am asking you reconsider my complaint and respond to this letter within 7 days.
If your decision still stands as on your letter dated XX/XX/XXXX then I will take further action with my reasons, and the same applies if I do not hear from you within 7 days.

I have a genuine case and believe I am in my right to make a reclaim for a policy I did not know I was paying for.
I have been deprived of my money, and I hope you will consider on upholding my complaint and refund all PPI paid into the Policy, plus interest paid, and 8% of what a court would award.

I look forward to receiving a response by 7 days of this letter.

    Yours faithfully
