they said it was a final decision
I would continue to make the complaint to the FOS now then and if you want to (optional) write back to the business and let them know, tell them as you don't agree with their decision you are now making a complaint to the FOS with evidence you have to support your case, despite the signing of the agreement you have your reasons for complaint.
Sometimes (not saying its guaranteed though) it then gets settled and resolved at early stages within the FOS, so even before it goes to the Adjudicator stage.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I'm confused and a certain HSBC claims handler has some explaining to do first thing in the morning.
My redress states the following:
9 premiums paid from 05/09/2007-06/05/2008 = £181.77
Plus taxable Interest of 8% = £51.23
Total = £233
But here is the thing, I have checked my credit report and the card started 11/04/2005 and I made 36 Credit card payments until 06/05/2008.
So, unless they randomly added the PPI 27 months after it was taken out without me asking, then Mr claims handler is being very naughty.
Either way, it will be resolved tomorrow. :mad:I'm a secret crime fighter0 -

Hi Ian
Could you email them and send them a copy of this? The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
What I mean't was your reasons.;)
If you don't mind me asking, but what were your reasons of being mis sold?
Maybe we could try working something out, that the business may have overlooked, cheers x0 -
Hi Ian

I thought it would be better to get in contact with the claims handler first thing in the morning and ask for proof that I only paid the 9 payments mentioned.
I will threaten contacting the CEO and FOS and even the papers :rotfl:if I find out that they are not following the claims process as laid out by the FSA.
Ignoring the compounding effect of the 8% interest on payments, I would be due 4 times that amount.
Also, I want to know why I haven't received the interest back that I paid on the ppi payments that were added to my card at the prevailing credit card interest rate.I'm a secret crime fighter0 -
i never asked for the ppi, didnt know it was added...no mention of it on statements, and certainly not explained,
It's quite possible the ppi was added without your own authority, this happens and nothing at all surprises me.
When you make this complaint to the FOS then tell them just that, and enclose the copies of statements which proof there is nothing on them about you paying for PPI.
You could as well, tell the business that you think they have overlooked your case, because this should also be included on the statements and there is no mention of this on your statements.
They "may overturn" the decision, even if they have already given the final decision, it maybe worth a shot and give them maybe another week to hear, if you don't hear then complain to the FOS.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Ian, your certainly on the right track with this hon and yes I agree that would be a good idea.:T
Go and get em hon, let us know how you get on.
I'm actually quite nervous this afternoon, received an email from the Adjudicator and he is to email his opinion tomorrow afternoon on a case that have been with them for some time, well almost 3 years , a complexed case though, so if its not ruled in my favour, it's off to the ombudsman for a full review.:o:D;).
Good luck xThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
