Hello there
And yes to my knowledge you can make a reclaim on mortgage ppi if mis sold, but I would ask dunstonh for more advice on this one and how to complain.
All other complaints in regards of loans and credit cards ppi, if mis sold then all you do is complete the reclaim questionnaire as on step 3 below, send to the ones responsible, head office or complaints, allow 8 weeks - although they may ask for more time due to backlogs.
Remember to keep completed copies in case you need to go back to them at some point.
More on mis selling reasons.........
Going back to the mortgage ppi, I have posted a new separate thread for you, its still within these ppi reclaiming threads, but dunstonh then will come across it and offer the appropriate advice on this one.
Title it "Mortgage PPI help"
Hope this is helpful for you, good luck.
How do i find out if they have been mis-sold?
Thanks0 -

Hi there,
not sure about mortgage ppi, but someone will know and help v-soon
the relationship and account status should and will not be affected by making a complaint
must people will know why the ppi was mis-sold, but to jog your mind of the reasons, have a little read here :
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step2
Then once you have refreshed on why the ppi was mis-sold etc, you will need to download and have a read of a consumer complaints questionnaire and check what info you will need.
the main info you will need is:
account number/ numbers
start or opening date
last payment or closing date
the questionnaire is found here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step3
hope that helps and good luck:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim

Thanks anyway.
Its still so blurry... how can i get the paper work to back up my claim? And do i need too?0 -
Right, so we need GE money then? is that correct?:D;)
I hope GE money responds to this for you now, tell them you have received the decision through Santander, to make sure they go through the correct route here.

Ask them to confirm this have been received, then I would also let Santander know by email that you have sent a further letter to GE Money as well.0 -
Ill get u the outfit as long as u have the light sabre to go with it, or is it saber and i have just done a mass injustice and brought on an early divorce spelling it wrong???
I did get one of those " heres all your info" things from halifax a while back which i paid a tenner for i think when this all started, will all the fees be in there?
Oh yes, i have the tools to go with the chitter chatter but would you know how to use itand then to handle it! lol :rotfl::rotfl:
OMG when did this thread go R18
trust me spelling is not a problem, i cant spell and my parents spent thousands on me getting though PE didnt work:D:rotfl:
£10 that must be your SAR details, yes have a read though that lot over a coffee and just make notes of the ppi payments made, add them up and then you will have 8% interest too, so a little soon becomes alot:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim

it is simple, just take your time and read though the info and what your not sure of, just ask our lovely experts (which im not) like Di, Amersall, cappo and all ive missed out will be here to help
depending on what info you already have, if you have company, account numbers, amounts (loans) start and finishes dates your more or less on your way
just download the questionnaire and see whats needed.
Then if you need more info from loan or CC you can request an SAR but we can help there too, once you've had a read over everything:D:p Perfer et obdurai dolor hic tibi proderit olim

Thanks
There are lots of different reasons for being mis sold, this can be anything from:
Not knowing you were paying for the PPI/added without your knowledge. (Even though you may have signed up for it, you may have been told its all part of the package).
Or:
Pre medical conditions at the time of taking out the policy, so if you were to make a claim for sickness for a condition you already had when you taken out the policy, they will not pay out for that particular condition.
You may have been pressurised into taking it out and told no ppi then no loan etc.
Or:
It may have been one of those front loaded policies where they do not cover for the life of the loan, so for example, a loan over 25 years, the policy only covered for 5 of those years, then after 5 years have gone the ppi has ended but your still paying for it for the term of the loan.
They may not have explained about the policy, or that it would be added to the loan as one single payment.
If you and a partner had a joint loan, the ppi would probably only protect the first applicant, this is not fair on the 2nd applicant because they stil have responsibilities of the loan.
If you were self employed, this may not cover you, or if worked less than 18 or 16 hours a week.
But always try checking out the policy details, if you no longer have them, the businesses will supply them free of charge.
Also check the checklist for further details......
