Well i had numerous companies contact me saying they could get me loads of money back, with a nice 30% profit for them! so i decided to do it myself!
FOllowed Martin's tips and sent the forms off to 3 companies (Egg, LLoyds TSB & Abbey)...so far i've had the two acounts settled with Egg for around £3,500 and i'm just awaiting decisions on the other two companies. It's coming up to the 8 weeks so not sure how much le-way i should give them!!0 -
Morning all,
Well today I received a letter from Halifax to say they have upheld my 2 loan complaints i had with them!! :j:j One cheque was for £336, that was for a small loan taken out in 2001. Then a few months later I took out a new loan to pay that one off and have some extra money. So for the second loan I got £1120  £700 has been deducted to pay off the rest of my loan, leaving me with a cheque for £420!
I'm a very happy bunny as I am now debt free for the first time in 10 years!! Yippee!!
Just waiting to hear about my Halifax Credit Card now, hopefully shouldn't be much longer as a couple of weeks ago I was told it is with the calculations team.:D
Thanks to this fantastic site and all the wonderful people on here that have helped along the way :T:A:T
Good luck to you all, i'm sure you will all hear some good news soon0 -

i only have records dating back to 2001so what would be my best move please? if i send off a sar will they be able to provide me with info dating back to 1996?
i really dont get how they came up with £296 when they havent got any evidence pre 2005 so they have no idea how much i paid on the money i owed !!! im so confused!!
thinking about i i now see what they have done they have taken the evidence from 2005 where i only owed £4 on the account and the ppi i paid on that £4 ie 0.41 p and times the 0.41p by 14 years or something like that!!
i thin im going to send a sar off as i figure if my case worker has managed to see a copy of my original agreement then they must be able to have statements dating back that far also or at least a record of how much i owed and paid ect ect
does anyone have any details for santander please to send a sar off to and what i need to put in my letter to them?
many thans in advance0 -
also are they only obliged to only provide me with statements dating back 6 years or do they have to provide all information they have about my account??0

I'm sure I will be needing it again in the very near future!
Still awaiting outcomes with Barclaycard and Capital One but didn't submit my complaints until end of May so I expect to be waiting a while. Although I just looked at my last letter from Capital One and I was due to hear from them today. I'm not holding my breath with them though after the way they have been behaving lately!!0 -

They should send all data/statements over the last 6 years, so basically from 2005, but some will still hold details for even longer x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
