PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

morning guys right so ive had my letter through from santander this morning regards my burtons menswear card it doesnt sound right to me at all
letter as follows
further to our telephone conversation and the evidence provided confirming you were not working at the time of taking out the the insurance policy i am pleased to confirm that we will be refunding all the premiums paid to your account
i would also lie to confirm we will be refunding the interest applied to the account where charged on these on these premiums and as a gesture of good will we have applied a loss of cash compensation payment at the rate of 8% per annum
the break down is as follows
premium = £296.45
interest = £390.11
loss of cahs payment = £486.00
i have arranged for a cheque for the above amount to be sent to you under serpate cover please allow 14 working days for receipt of this.
this is our final response yadda yadda yadda
im very pleased that they have upheld but im sure of what statements i have that i was paying at least £17 a month on my high balance from about 1996 to roughly 2000 so the payments made of £296.45 on the break down doesnt seem in line with what i paid at all
any suggestions please or am i just being daft and should except the outcome ?0 -

Hello everyone , ive been reading your posts for quite a while , a company approached me last october about reclaiming my ppi , i know i wish id seen this place sooner but hey thats life , they rang me today to say the 1st of 3 ppi reclaims from barclays has been offered , its only £356 and will be paid straight into my account , the company dealing with it takes there 25% cut so im just waiting on the other 2 now , so good luck everyone , barcalys are getting themselves in gear finally ............ thank you0

No luck with the e-mail address it keeps coming back unsent maybe it's a problem their end. I called them today and was told that over the telephone their systems don't go back as far as 2000. But I was given an address to contact and ask for my details. So letter has gone in the post today fingers crossed x0 -

just looking through my old burtons menswear statements and it says account cover charge @1.50 per £100 owed so going by that my balance of £2000 would of been £30 a month and if i was paying that for 2 years that would be £720 even in 2004 i was paying 50 p a month but that was only on a £4 balance lol
so im sure they must of got their calculations wrong ??0 -
Postie has just been received a letter from the Ombudsman regarding a complaint to Capital one credit card ppi. Acknowledgement Thank you for your correspondence, which has been received safely.
We are currently receiving very high volumes of enquiries and it may take upto 4 weeks before we can provide you with a full response.
If you have not heard from us by then please contact us.

To be honest i thought it would be at least 5/6 months before i got a response from the ombudsman, hopefully then it should be soon.
