I had a number of egg loans going back about ten years and as the director of my own limited company I'd never have been able to claim on the policies I was forced to take (they advised me at the time that I wouldn't be allowed to take out the loans without taking the insurance).
As it was so long ago, I didn't think it would be worthwhile, but I dropped them a line six weeks or so ago as I figured I had nothing to lose, and today I received a cheque in the post for just over £4k.
Happy bunny :-)
Cheers Martin!

I had a car loan with WELCOME FINANCE some years ago and filled in the forms with BRUNEL FRANKLIN who said they would deal with my case, I kept in touch with them and they informed me that i had infact been sold PPI and they would deal with it. They wrote to WELCOME and told me i would have to wait 8 weeks for a response which i did, They came back to me and said they were going to pursue the matter with WELCOME but i would have to wait a further 8 weeks for another response THEN out of the blue a few days later i received a letter from BRUNEL FRANKLIN saying they are NOT taking the case any further and can not assist me further in this matter. OH well i tried and now i will forget it so anyone out there thinking of using a PPI RECLAIMS COMPANY think twice before using this company seems to me they give up to easy.many thanks BILL
hey the guys on here always encourage us not to give in so easy- i didnt after cap 1 told me a flat no - i optained the ceo details and sent him a few emails.
think of it this way the ppi company no longer so you wont have to pay them anything now. could u may be ask them to email me you correspondence of whatever they may have done (just for your recordsyou could say) and then take it to the head of the company.
AGAIN... THIS IS ONLY WHAT I WOULD DO.

Hi Guy's sent an Email to Halifax regarding old loan. They didn't reply to my Email just sent a letter to me saying I refer to your recent e-mail sent to Antonio Horta-Osorio on 15th July regarding your payment protection insurance mis-sale allegation on the above Halifax loan.
Your e-mail has been forwarded to me as an experienced case handler.
I can confirm that since the outcome of the Judicial Review was known we have been working towards putting into place procedures to deal with PPI complaints. The complaints will be worked in date order, the oldest being worked first, this is in keeping with treating all our customers fairly.
I can confirm we now have up to 16 weeks to resolve complaints received from 6th May 2011. This is in line with the specific requirements that the FSA have published for the handling of PPI Complaints. Your Complaint will be dealt with as quickly as possible, but if you have any further questions regarding this please contact us on 0845 601 4034, we will be happy to help.
yours sincerely
Clair Wragg
Customer Relations.
