To be honest i thought it would be at least 5/6 months before i got a response from the ombudsman, hopefully then it should be soon.
Has anyone had the same letter? Thanks in advance x
Hiya
And the best of luck with this.
They are supposed to keep you updated regularly, and hope you will not be waiting too long now, I think the FOS are also trying to resolve them before they even go as far as the Adjudicator, because that can take some time unfortunately, but all crossed here and hope you hear some very good news soon x:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
10.30 Post man came - he's early typical another bill.

Hi Rae

Good luck though and good for you too for speaking your mind to them x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Im still waiting for Norton, the date they gave me was friday last week so a letter is due very soon tbh i dont expect them to uphold this they seem very to take everything to the fos, ours was signed and ticked etc etc but i am pretty damn well sure if was explained in pure english
"sir this cover will cost you 8k for 2 years cover because you paid it off early we will give you a rebate of £500 off your settlement, we must however add that your 8k will go on top of your main loan and interest charged for both, we would also like to add that because you settled early you receive no cash back even though you did not make any claims" would you like to proceed with this policy.
errr no thanks.
Fingers crossed themass, blimey, not much of a rebate on settlement was it?
Never mind it will all add up with the interest of everything you paid, and you will receive the whole lot back.
Hope they uphold it for you, it's about time this company saw some sense, good luck xThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

so im sure they must of got their calculations wrong ??
ok another update ive just phoned santander and some to my case worker lol it get me more confused she said that she cant get any records up pre 2005 but their system apparently pulls all my premiums paid from 1996 to current date and thats how they have come up with the calculation of £296.45?????? so i said right so ive only been refunded for the last 6 years and she said no our computers have pulled the premiums from 1996 to current date erm so how comes its only coming up with £296 when i know ive paid more??? erm well if you have any evidence to show how much premiums to did pay from 1996 to 2005 then we can recalculate!!!
i only have records dating back to 2001so what would be my best move please? if i send off a sar will they be able to provide me with info dating back to 1996?
i really dont get how they came up with £296 when they havent got any evidence pre 2005 so they have no idea how much i paid on the money i owed !!! im so confused!!0 -
h0pusp0pus wrote: »morning guys right so ive had my letter through from santander this morning regards my burtons menswear card it doesnt sound right to me at all
letter as follows
further to our telephone conversation and the evidence provided confirming you were not working at the time of taking out the the insurance policy i am pleased to confirm that we will be refunding all the premiums paid to your account
i would also lie to confirm we will be refunding the interest applied to the account where charged on these on these premiums and as a gesture of good will we have applied a loss of cash compensation payment at the rate of 8% per annum
the break down is as follows
premium = £296.45
interest = £390.11
loss of cahs payment = £486.00
i have arranged for a cheque for the above amount to be sent to you under serpate cover please allow 14 working days for receipt of this.
this is our final response yadda yadda yadda
im very pleased that they have upheld but im sure of what statements i have that i was paying at least £17 a month on my high balance from about 1996 to roughly 2000 so the payments made of £296.45 on the break down doesnt seem in line with what i paid at all
any suggestions please or am i just being daft and should except the outcome ?0 -
