Morning guys.
I have the udder arf here throwing pieces of paper at me and me looking delighted and him looking confused as to why im delighted lol,,
Anyway just a few questions please if i may.
The basis is he has majority of the time been self employed/ sub contracted ok.
He had a loan with Alliance and Leicester, :
Loan £7,500
Interest £2257.20
Monthly Payment £162.62 for 60 months (paid it off early tho)
Personal Loan Protection Amount £1625.72
Interest £498.28
Monthly Payment £35.23
Total payable £2115.00
I do have all the initial agreement papers for the loan and the protection cover which clearly states on there he is self employed, we do not have the p/w where he ticked anything etc tho,
Basically does this look like its worth an email/letter to My A&E requesting it back please?
Capital One  Sadly like so many others he had a cc with these, shame as i know these arent all playing ball right now.
On his card statements dating back to 2005 i can see:
Card Protection £50 on a statement (i can see this only once out of about 5 statements)
Payment Protection ranging from £6.00 > £9.00 per month
Once again he would have been self employed.
He also has charges on here of £20.00 for late payment and £20 for going over his limit once in a year!!
Once again is it worth me dropping these a line please?
He also had a Debenhams store card with G E Capital and had " account cover" on this, is this the same as ppi please?
And lastly with Barclays i have his account number and his previous addresses but not masses of paperwork, is it worth me dropping ceo of Barclays an email asking them to check it for me or is that a bit too forward and i need to go down the lines of sending them money and asking for papers etc
Thanks MASSES for any input you can help me with xx2025 Wins ::

Cant comment on GE/Cap 1, but my experience of Alliance and Leicester was a good one
How long ago did you pay them off?
What was the APR %?
From the above we ought to be able to give a good idea as to how much you'll get
Was the loan sold in branch or over the telephone?
Their email address is letsworkitout@alliance-leicester.co.uk
If you just email them with your account number, name and address (plus address at the time if different) along with your reasons for missell, they should be quite quick getting back to you
I'd be inclined to have a multiple approach to the missell rather than just self employed , such as -
- Were all the terms and conditions explained to you?
- Were you asked if you had adequate cover elsewhere (like sick pay from your employer?)
- Did the salesperson (if sold over the phone/in branch) give the impression you were more likely to be accepted if you took the PPI?-
Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

I am chasing a refund from MBNA but feel i am being palmed off.
I first sent them a letter on 3rd May 2011. after a couple of letters back they finally said they would be back to me by 6th July, they were only a couple of days late but the reply told me they needed more time. Then i got another letter asking me to fill the questionnaire in,
Are they just stalling? is this the norm from these guys?
I can't remember if PPI was on the statements when I first signed up, but I feel it was added later and i remember thinking to myself typical bank, law to themselves so didn't respond.
I know stupid, but I was back then!
I have had some luck claiming from Monument, they originally offered half the PPI at £380.00 as a good will gesture, I replied that I wanted the full amount back plus interest and the next letter offered the full amount £740 plus interest £920.00 totalling £1,640.00.0 -
After my claim being with the FOS for 18 months have now received a letter saying that lloyds have agreed to uphold my claim, although they dont accept liability. In the letter it says if I agree not to do anything and they should get back to me within 14 days.
I opend my card in 2001 and paid it off in 2008. PPI was cancelled in 2007, when I was aware that I didnt need it and the balance was 4000. So Im not sure really what Im expecting back as I did not have any copy statements.:T
Not too sure if Lloyds are going to pay back the 200.00 for inconvenience but not too bothered about this, just glad this is all over.
Ive also been cheeky because of this and asked them to look at my other credit card again, which they rejected but I didnt take further as I applied for it on line and thought i would have no chance but my reasoning for this is that I took out the ppi as all my loans etc with Lloyds had it because when I first took out a credit card and loan the bank manager (I only went in for a bank card lol) said it was best to have it and told me horror stories of thoes that didnt have it and couldnt pay the bills.0 -

Hi there
The answer is yes on them all, if you don't try you will never know, also with the Debenhams Store card it sounds the same as my son's store card via Burtons and he was refunded his money, so do give it a go, as long as you have the account numbers then that is fine.
Good luck on them all.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hiya
Well done on your Monument Success!
Its standard now for the reclaim questionnaires, so if you've send in a letter of reclaim they tend to send out the questionnaire's.
I expect you are aware of the backlog and the FSA have given the main of the banks more time to deal with these complaints, but if it's been some time, keep chasing them, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Michelle and well done on this good news!
The banks only pay the further compo if your case was dealt with by the FOS.
If upheld directly by the bank, or successful as such then the further redress is not normally included.
Did your's go as far as the FOS on this one?
If so then question them about the further compo. Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi Di
it actually went as far as waiting to be allocated an Ombudsman. Lloyds rejected the adjudicators decision in December, so i was suprised to receive this letter saying that they have now overturned their original decision. Thought it would have gone all the way.
