What were you reclaiming: PPI on Loan
Who was the provider: EGG
How much did you get back: £1560
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Sent one letter giving all the details, 9 weeks later - cheque :-)
And then write your brief reclaim tale: I was mis-sold PPI on an egg loan which i paid off in Jan this year, id already had a loan with egg and when i wanted to add a bit more on to refinance they told me I was declined unless i took out the ppi, it nearly brought me to tears at the time (6yrs ago) i was so angry but had no argument at the time, but hey what goes around comes around, i skipped all the way to bank on Tuesday :-)Proud to be dealing with my debts

Evening Blytheboy
So glad you saw this post too - interesting to see what information we can find out regarding this - hopefully we may get somewhere!!
Hi there BeverleyKim
Firstly, it's great to see that Santander are paying out for Debenhams claims but if the complaint criteria are the same, why are they paying out selectively or is it perhaps my claim is rather large and they are only paying out smaller claims. The FOS indicated that it could takes a while to progress my claim as it stands or falls on lead cases being ruled upon first. Santander or GE Capital will never have the pleasure of taking any more money from my sticky little mitts again so I guess that's a small loss for them. I hope Joe enlightens us how to be successful againt Santander, come on Joe or I'll get Jedi Jim to make you tell us:rotfl:so he will!0 -

Hi,
was this a loan or credit card?
When did it start and end?
What was the interest rate for the loan/credit card?
If a credit card, do you have an agreement that shows how they applied payments made? (as in what order were the following paid - purchases balance, balance transfer balance, cash balance, ppi premiums)
£37.63 in interest sounds VERY low on £2,067.14
I agree with the comments above - £37.63 seems very low to me indeed.
If it is a credit card - I have had a claim upheld / paid recently going back to 2003 and the associated interest was TWICE the amount of the refunded premiums.
If I were you I would challenge them.

I am now composing my e-mail to the CEO and just need to ask the wonderful Di for the correct e-mail address.
Do you think that I should mention that i request an early response (i.e. within 7 days) or I will consider asking the Information Commisioners Office re: what should be supplied to me under the Data Protection Act
YES
or will this just get their back up? Just DO It :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Stop being a civil servant;);)
Regarding the PPI re-claim on the chargecard and my agreement: Yes it says quite clearly that my occupation is 'Civil Servant' employed by the DHSS! Sooo! :j:j:j:j:j
My reasons for mis-sell are: The question about PPI is worded in a deliberately mis-leading way (even when I read it again now I have to read it very slowly and word for word to form the question correctly IYKWIM!!) Agreed
and the fact that it was sold to me by a saleslady who did not check with me that the insurance was necessary or appropriate, Agreed
even when I quite clearly showed I was a civil servant. Surely any training she had received re: store card selling and PPI would tell her that PPI is unnecessary for public sector employees. At the time she did not ask any questions re: pre-existing health issues which may invalidate any potential claims. Agreed
Is this enough? :money: Err Probably;);)
THATS THREE YES'S YOU'R THROUGH TO THE FINAL ROUND :j:j:j
I may pop into Marks to pick up a current application form for a Chargecard just to see how the question re: PPI is asked now. Wonder if the wording on it has changed?!!!!
I think you'll find it does't even exist any longer
:D
Thanks again for your help!:A
I will keep you updated!
If it does ? Can she Claim:D0 -

I am going to e-mail the CEO re: the SAR request. I quite clearly requested details of all accounts and associated accounts held by them (used the SAR request template from this forum!) but the letter they sent me states that they have sent everything relating to just one account!! Think they are trying to fob me off with this!
NEVER:mad::mad::mad:
If they had sent the info that they hold in relation to the other credit card that I opened with them only a couple of years ago and is still open then I probably would have thought that was that but as it is they have my agreement going back 25 years so I'm thinking they hold a lot more information than the few bits of paper that they have sent.
They do shoot themselves in the foot don't they:D
Hopefully I will get a response from the CEO and details of the Loan I had with them!!
I'm sure once they know you're up for a fight they'll capitulate and try and con somebody who doesn't follow this forum;);)
Good LuckNot that you'll need it;)
