well done i have two with black horse can i ask when did you submit your complaint and what was loan amount to get that amount today if you don't mind me asking

    Hi there,
I submitted my complaints on 8th December 2010. The loan amount was £3500. The PPI on it was £924 (including interest). They also paid me the 8% interest from when I started paying the loan up til 12th July 2011. The interest they have worked out and paid me is £407.59, although I don't know how they worked it out because I took the loan out in February 2003. I thought the interest would be more but maybe i'm working it out wrong :(
Have you emailed the CEO of Lloyds? If you haven't you should! :D
I only had to email him twice and after the second one I had an email off Black Horse saying there is an offer letter in the post, which I received the next day! :j
I also have 3 with Halifax that I submitted at the same time, i've been emailing the CEO of Lloyds about these too but still not received a decision. I did speak to customer services the other day who said one of them is with the calculations team so i'm assuming it's good news :D

When did you submit your complaints to Black Horse? Just keep on at them and i'm sure you will receive some good news soon. Good luck!! :D

Attempts at getting the local MP to help (we are in Oxfordshire) has proven to be pointless. Any wisdom would be much appreciated.

As for this point, depending on which party he/she is in, write to the leader of that party and then contact your local paper to say how unhelpful they were to even try and assist you and your sister, let it be known publicly that they were so unhelpful, most people know about ppi now so when even the local MP wont help your sister who is disabled and it is obvious she was mis-sold the power of the MP would've been really helpful, I think it's down right shocking they wouldn't help, my MP and MSP(in scotland) can't do enough to help. Perhaps they've had donations from the bank concerned, shame NOTW just gone out of business they might've liked that one!
Thanks to all the competition posters.

Just logged onto MBNA credit cards and the credit limits have been reduced from £1500 and £9000 to £500 and £1000. Is this because I have started to claim or because I have just paid them both off.
Probably because they've been paid off, my oh done a balance transfer on to her BOS CC and as soon as the payment was done, they reduced the limit by about 90% of what she had just cleared, but in fairness we were going to do that anyway.
Thanks to all the competition posters.

    My first success!!!:j

Received a letter from Cap One today to tell me they are paying me £118.00 following mis-sell of PPI on my CC. Not a huge amount, I know but better than a 'poke in the eye'!!
I had the card between 2003 and 2009 and the credit limit was only £400. The only statements that I could find showed PPI payments of between £2 and £3 so I am pleased!!

Received another letter, this time from M&S but less pleased with this one! I sent £10 with my SAR request but they have only sent info on my Chargecard which I opened in 1986 (including a copy of the agreement). No details of my Credit Card that I opened with them a couple of years ago which I was expecting, although I have never paid PPI on this account and no info on a loan I had with them, which I was hoping for. Finished paying back this loan over 6 years ago but have no info re: account number or indeed whether PPI was included. I thought a SAR meant they had to give details of ALL accounts held. The fact they didn't send any info on the credit card leads me to think they havn't sent everything. What do I do now?

    Another question please?

I looked at the copy of the credit agreement for the chargecard and at first thought 'great I havn't ticked the box requesting PPI' but when I read the question again it actually says ' If you do not wish to have chargecard protection insurance please tick here'. Now what do I do?
Can't honestly remember back 25 years but the card was sold to me in store by a saleslady and if I did read the question properly & did ask her what PPI was she may have said it would cover my payments in the event of sickness or redundancy and I may well have thought OK. However, due to being a civil servant at the time (still am!) with very good sickness and redundancy provisions and pre-existing health issues, the PPI was unnecessary and possibly useless! If the saleslady had asked me about my circumstances surely she should have told me that PPI was not needed!

I would be really grateful for any suggestions as to how best to approach this i.e. how to word my questionaire!

Thanks for all the help received so far!!
Today I am £118 richer/less poorer thanks to all those contribute :A

I would be inclined to write back to make sure they don't hold anything else, however they may only hold data up to the last 6 years, but some will still have data held for even longer, you could write and tell them you don't believe for just £10 you received all data your entitled to under the Data Protection Act (DPA), see what they come back with.

    Another question please?

So it looks like you were paying for it then afterall.
I would try making a reclaim and enclose a copy of your paperwork for proof, and tell them the policy was obviously worthless to you and if this was explained to you when it was sold to you then you would have been given the opportunity to have refused it.
Give it a go, good luck.

Now some weeks since Barclays said they would be refunding claims put on hold for the JR. This was some time ago. I have 3 outstanding with them.
Has anyone heard anything from them yet? The still don't seem to be in any hurry to deal with them!

Mine went in January. My letter said to hear by 31st August. They said they would refund all my claims on a "no quibble" basis but haven't heard anything since the letter a month ago.

They will have to get around to it eventually. Just think of the interest adding up.
