    hi there

has anyone had any experience with claiming ppi from welcome finance?

what has propmted me was i had a letter through the post about claiming, i don't think it was explained clearly to me, i remember the guy saying to me, i would need it incase i became unemployed and that was basically it.

    thanks guys
I had a letter from the in early May regarding a loan I had paid off 2 years agao, again I was told I needed PPI to get the loan. I sent the form off ( it should be from the FSCS on behalf of Welcome ) and 6 weeks later I had £1300 refunded - quite a few people on here have had money refunded from them and the are very quick.
    Good Luck !

    Hello there

Many have and are making reclaims for being mis sold by this company, but they are now in default and claims are currently being made through the Financial Compensation Scheme (FSCS), more below, but what year did you take out your loan, if from Jan 2005 onwards you can go through the FSCS, if before that, then I would contact the Financial ombudsman Service (FOS) where they may suggest the underwriter/insurer direction.

I assume Welcome Finance were the ones who set up and sold you the account as your broker of the loan?

Check details here, but I would not bother with a claims company when its only a matter of a claim form.
And doing this yourself if successful you will get to keep all your refund.

    Hope this helps, good luck.;)

Just a quick note: thanks for the positive feedback to my last post, but I think I've conveyed the wrong message. The adjudicator at the FOS has ruled in my sister's favour but Norton Finance are refusing to accept this. The adjudicator explained that the case was contentious as my sister had signed documents saying she had earnt a certain amount over the previous year, but the devious cretins at Norton Finance had made her think this was integral to the loan application, not the ppi. I just don't understand. Surely the fact that she left no doubt in their minds whatsoever that she had a pre-existing medical decision (she sent her disability benefit papers to them as proof of income) and she explained she was self-employed, should have indicated that the ppi was not suitable. The case has now been passed along to the Ombudsman. Has anyone had any experience of this stage in the process? I have a horrible feeling that the attempts of Norton Finance to avoid admitting fault and paying up are going to work for them and my sister will have paid out nearly £3000 for nothing. Attempts at getting the local MP to help (we are in Oxfordshire) has proven to be pointless. Any wisdom would be much appreciated.

    Hiya

Yes I have had a case maybe 2 that have gone as far as the ombudsman, generally they go along with the Adjudicator's decision, so the company your complaining of will have to accept the ombudsman's decision where they don't have to with the adjudicators.
Make sure its fast tracked as well.

If I recall correctly it was about 2 maybe 3 months before they passed mine on to the ombudsman after the adjudicators decision, but hopefully in your sister's case it will be quicker.

    Good luck.

hi guys just wanted to give you more info on the letter i recveived, it was from a sheraz afzal for and on behalf of welcome finance.

it includes a form to fill out an fscs asking whether i wish to make a claim or not, do you think i should fill this form out or go the route everyb ody else has gone?

    Hiya
I see, so the letter is on behalf of Welcome Finance, I have left a link above for you with more info, and if you think you may have a case of being mis sold the PPI, then yes do give it a go.

However if you were sold one of those front loaded policies where the ppi was added within the loan, and maybe the ppi would only have protected you for about 5 years and not for the whole term of the loan, this is a complaint in itself.

    Good luck.;)

    Hi Guys,

Hope your all managing to duck and cover from the rain it hasnt stopped here in lincs today!!

Anyway my case is a little confusing as its not just PPI its for other problemsand ive rolled them into one. By the by i have been very patient not rang or pestered buyt after having a read seen others are emiling so i thought i would too.

I have copied the letter i sent to them by post to the ceo who for Halifax am i right in saying is this Antonio chappy? And he is also Lloydstsb right? So he has a copy in the email of the long letter i wrote and i have also added this bit to the top...

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I have previously contacted you on numerous times which you will see in the statement below but i am hearing nothing back on a regular basis, which, as it is my own money i am trying to reclaim back i find that rather unprofessional to just receive a standard letter that thousands of others are receiving. Although i totally understand that you are overloaded with claims from people requesting their money back at the end of the day if i have a bank charge you are quick enough to take it and send me a letter so i would expect the same treatment back.

I have copied you the letter below which was my last communication to your company below. I received yet another standard letter in response saying 31st August i would hear something by. I feel that due to the amount of time i have been waiting this is too lengthy and would appreciate an update either by phone on **************** or to this email account.

Due to a house fire a few years ago a lot of my financial paperwork was sadly lost, although i did inform my bank at the time and request anything they could get me i was informed that should i need it in the future they would get it for me. Due to lack of paperwork here i would also like one of your team to look into any previous loans, cards.charges which i have received with your bank, I have been advised i just need to provide you with postcodes for you to be able to do this.
    They are:

stuck in 8 postcodes here,. all with same account number but going back to 1992

Thank you for your time in reading this email and the letter below, i trust it will now be handled in a professional manner which as you can tell is not how i have always received from your trained staff in your branches.

    Kind Regards

Do you guys think this sounds ok i didnt want to go in for the kill on my first email but i did want to stress a few points.

Also want to congratulate those of you who have received THEIR money back,,,,,, :j:j

My udder arf thinks he had a loan back with Barclays many moons ago so i said what the hell lets just send an email with your post code and account number and see what happens.... got to be worth a try.

Ive been stopped smoking 5 days does it show lol xxxxxxx

  • Hi all

After reading on this site about people success, I thought I would give it a go and try to reclaim PPI on credit cards I held previously

Today I have had confirmation and a cheque for 2 of my claims

    EGG = £546

    and MBNA wait for it..........................

    £4662!!

fantastic and all as a result of 1 phone call to EGG and 1 Email to MBNA

Now for the other 3 claims!

Even my wife is digging out her Loan info to try and claim

    Thanks again for motivating me
