Just a quick note: thanks for the positive feedback to my last post, but I think I've conveyed the wrong message. The adjudicator at the FOS has ruled in my sister's favour but Norton Finance are refusing to accept this. The adjudicator explained that the case was contentious as my sister had signed documents saying she had earnt a certain amount over the previous year, but the devious cretins at Norton Finance had made her think this was integral to the loan application, not the ppi. I just don't understand. Surely the fact that she left no doubt in their minds whatsoever that she had a pre-existing medical decision (she sent her disability benefit papers to them as proof of income) and she explained she was self-employed, should have indicated that the ppi was not suitable. The case has now been passed along to the Ombudsman. Has anyone had any experience of this stage in the process? I have a horrible feeling that the attempts of Norton Finance to avoid admitting fault and paying up are going to work for them and my sister will have paid out nearly £3000 for nothing. Attempts at getting the local MP to help (we are in Oxfordshire) has proven to be pointless. Any wisdom would be much appreciated.

    Hi,

this depends, what date was the loan taken/finished?

Also, if you look towards the top of this page, just below the page numbers, there is a "search this thread" link - click on that and put "welcome finance" into the search box and hit enter, it will bring up past references to "Welcome" so you dont have to trwal through no Welcome stuff to find it

Though unfortunately this will also pick up where people say "You're welcome!" and "Welcome to the forum"

    !

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

    Hi all,

Well after over 2 years of my husband's complaint going on (20 months with the FOS) we had a letter a few days ago saying that Lloyds are willing to settle without admitting liability. Which is good but I am hoping they don't write to him saying to accept whatever they offer without knowing the figures (if you know what I mean?).

He has a credit card still but PPI was cancelled, about 18 months ago. He has had this since he was 18 and living at home, he is now nearly 30. He also had a loan (small one and paid off when 18/19) and we are not sure if ppi was added to that but I believe they were taking all in to consideration. The FOS also said they believe Lloyds should pay him £200 in compensation but will they still offer that?

Should Lloyds provide figures before we accept any offer?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    :)

You need to wait for the offer from lloyds,if it is wrong you can go back to FOS.
If they have not admitted liability they may not give the "200,having said that, the FOS may expect them to.

If your loan was post 14th jan 05 then let the FSCS deal with it.
If it was pre this date, then you have to go for the insurer.
Give FSCS a ring and confirm the letter was from them.

    Morning everyone,

Finally i've had some long awaited good news. This morning I received one of my cheques from Black Horse! They upheld my 2 complaints 6 weeks ago but had to wait up to 8 weeks for the redress. Today they have repaid me £1332!! :j:j:beer:
I'm still awaiting the other cheque, so hopefully that won't be far behind and should arrive next week :D

    Just waiting on 3 x Halifax, 1 x Barclaycard and 1 x Capital One now ;)

Well done to all the recent successes and good luck to all that are still waiting :D
